Studio One, where do I get started? (Or, I hate Mixcraft, please for the love of god save me from this washed up DAW)

After some recent ahem frustrations with my current DAW (I'm not naming names  ) I decided that...gosh, I've been using this piddly little DAW for way, way too long. Well over 10 years now.
I wanted to move on to something that is more stable, and it seemed like Studio One was the answer to the stability thing...However, I've spent a number of hours playing around with it and reading their (holy shit 457 pages) manual. (For the record, didn't read the whole thing yet, still working through it all)
Anyways, I really want to like this DAW, but I just can't seem to find my way "in"....if that makes sense?
I was kind of hoping some of you might either have a good resource to help me get more familiar with it, or just some advice. Like...a non-hype beast "YO WHAT UP HOMIES, WE GONNA MAKE SOME PHATASS BEATS USING GODS GIFT OF STUDIO ONE" tutorial from like "beginner to competent".
Any suggestions? (feel free to also recommend alternatives if you think I'm barking up the wrong tree with Studio One)

Their education guy Gregor is one of the best I have seen -
Actually I think S1 has very good online material generally. I tend to use videos rather than the manual, although I have used the manual from time to time

I also find video tutorials more suitable for me than just reading manuals (one reason might be since my language is not English so reading is a bit difficult). But watching a video is better when I see what is done and how it is done even if I don’t understand all the words.

I am also new to Studio one. Still haven’t had opportunity to use it much with all Xmas hustle:D So this is interesting thread for me to, thanks!

It really depends... one issue I have with video tutorials is that, when I search for one specific thing, I have to scroll through the whole video to find it. IF I find it. That's where manuals come much more handy. Apart from the fact, of course, that loads of videos are like "HUZZAH!! HERE I AM GUYS!!!", instead of focusing on the video content. Yes, also in those Studio One tutorials. Especially when they come from that "Hi, I'm Joe from Presonus" guy.

One thing you could do is choose your DAW based on whether you like watching the video tutorials & relate to the workflows. I dont use Logic or Reaper but some of their tuts are a lot of fun.

I find the "first song in DAW X" style of tutorials are generally the best.

Not a bad idea - [particularly when comparing say S1 with Reaper where the Reaper Blog guy is very good. I think Gregor possibly covers more ground with S1 but the Reaper Blog guy is clear and gives well targeted tutes as well

My God that is truly awful

I could probably use any DAW if someone showed me how to enjoy using it to do exactly what I need. Kenny has fun with Reaper, as does Jacob Collier with his Logic livestreams. The amount of time to figure out how to navigate through unnecessary features is a real challenge for trying new DAWs

Home taping isn't killing music. Paint-by-numbers techno is.

It wasnt so much the song as the video claiming to be about tuition but providing not tuition at all - I hate videos that waste my time so the video producer (masquerading as a teacher) can just self promote

The music was utter bullshit, just like the 90% of music that sounds identical to it.
This is what happens when you replace artists with unskilled day labourers.

I foolishly wrote a long response expanding on your comment about replacement of artists. The forum software deleted it tho when I clicked submit. I have noticed this a few times lately and twice today (when I was editing a response)
Anyhow, it was about the effect of commodification on specialisation

I heard the most bullshit music I ever heard today, in a Darts World Championship clip on a German sports channel. Think EDM of the worst kind, without any melody, but with some weird, almost ambulance like sounds the whole time. Wondered who listens to such a pathetic crap.

Oh well, BTT. :D

I've heard a lot of people say that
