Recordings pre-1923 in the USA are all going public domain soon

So, I don't fully understand how this works but I guess a few years back, all the music copyright extensions were canceled and recordings will start going into the public domain again. Very excited to sample old '20s songs. See here for the whole breakdown:

So, as of January 1, 2022, tens of thousands of early recordings will no longer be under copyright restrictions. What does this mean for recorded sound research at the Library of Congress? Increased public and online access to previously unavailable recordings and expanded opportunities to explore the earliest days of our sound recording heritage.

The clean-it-up-and-descratcherizer type plugins are going to have a good market boost...which'll make a change from the usual muck-it-up-and-scratcherize it type of plugins.
