2022 seems to be the year of the Tele! I hope so for me too
I just ordered a Make Noise XoH module. Nothing sexy, but this is the one I intended to get before Rosie. I just need to play around with a way to keep both Rosie and XoH.

(Suggestions for Prototech, not stuff Ive bought)
Leaf Audio Soundbox
Metta New Age Noise Garden
Koma Electronics Field Kit
A crapload of stuff at Error Instruments
or, you could DIY up contact mics and build something similar, from basic Kalimbas to stuff like this
https://www.picclickimg.com/d/w1600/pic ... ic-box.jpg[/img]
up to a full-blown apprension Engine
Also, Ive forgotten the name of it, so someone please remind me, but a month or two back, while looking at things like those Ive just mentioned, I came across a device which was based around speaker feedback. It had a built-in guitar pickup, I think, or a contact mic, and a 'tray' over the speaker for stuff to vibrate on. It was all black if I remember.
Anyone know what that might have been?

Interesting. I wonder if those rods are welded into place, or whether there's some other way they're constructed.pekbro wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:20 pmhttps://potardesign.com/drop_shop/product/sound-urchin/Prototech wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 1:49 pm

Yeah I dunno, they look like brazing rods. I'm trying to decide if I want one of them actually.whyterabbyt wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:28 pmInteresting. It's somewhat reminiscent of a waterharp...

The sound urchin just looks dangerous. I’m steady on my feet but with that thing around I’m always going to have to worry if this is the day I’ll accidentally get impaled by an instrument.

That did occur to me as well. Brazing rods aren't going to be super rigid (if indeed that's what they are. probably). Still you could get one in the eye or something. I would keep it on the desk as well.elxsound wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 3:21 pm The sound urchin just looks dangerous. It also looks difficult to dust.

Nope; that's come up in the searches Ive done but Im afraid not. The one Im thinking of had a (3-5" I'd say) speaker mounted on the top of the box, and if Im right it was styled a bit like the Erica stuff.Shabdahbriah wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 3:43 pmA stretch.. but maybe, this?whyterabbyt wrote: Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:15 pm

I dont think it had springs, it was more about feedback.
