Loving TDR Kotelnikov: Any other TDR FX I'm missing out on?

I'm making a conscious effort to not get bogged down in having shitloads of plugins that I end up just not using - minimal s/w for me currently, though FX is one area that plugins absolutely rule over h/w IMO. Was recently properly checking out Kotelnikov and have to say I really like it. If I want character compression I'll use my h/w, and it to me it makes sense for s/w compression to be clean - that's it's strength over h/w and Kotelnikov certainly does that. Good compression even at high levels, I love the sidechain that's so easy to use (great to stop basses overtriggering a mix comp).
I've been using it over groups and mix to great effect, and things like the delta button I absolutely love (can hear what you're compressing in solo). I think I'll probably get the gentleman's edition - actually happy with Kotelnikov freebie but I think I should support TDR considering they make such a good freebie. High-ish on CPU but for me acceptable considering its quality - and likely only going to use it on mixes/groups anyway, so CPU use not an issue (I don't master from live mixes). I know they do other freebies but TBH I deliberately avoid getting sucked into hunting plugins, and KvR's a good place to get quick info for stuff like this.
Any other TDR plugins that I should consider? I suspect they must make a decent limiter/maximiser or two? I use the cheapo Ozone, but TBH its maximizer is a tad on the brutal side - all or nothing almost. Whereas a quality limiter/maximizer wouldn't get pushed as heavily anyway with a such a good comp over the mix. I can see me becoming a TDR convert...

Solely depends on your needs and what you already have.
Everything from TDR is highly recommendable if you are in need of a tool they have in their arsenal, so i'm pretty sure pretty much everything they have on offer will get mentioned here (and rightly so)
For me, if i could only have one, it surely would be Nova, but it's only because i already have great compressors, static EQs and limiters that i don't really see their's as truly essential to me, but only you can decide wether they truly add something special to your stuff, or you already have enough great options

You just missed the excellent Slick EQ M for $10 on sale.
TDR are one of the top developers in the game. Can't go wrong with any of their plugins.

Thanks, I'll check out NOVA. Eq gizmos I'm not so keen on. I just never use Eq that much - I do obviously, but just not to any extreme that I need to get fancy plugins for, and most of any Eqing I do is cutting, almost never boosting. And these newfangled dynamic Eq thingumajigs somehow don't appeal to me.
EDIT - ah...had a look and Nova is a dynamic Eq thingy. Not for me then.
Any more suggestions?

Tokyo Dawn Labs are one of my favourite plugin developers--excellent quality plugins, generous free versions, and demos that are almost fully functional indefinitely--and no ilok!

Not TDR but Jon V Audio have a plug-in called FIRComp that's also super clean and worth having in addition to Kotlnikov.

I have owned slick eq ge for a while, it's a great tool and the saturation is really good, I just wish it had a fourth band to be honest. Check it out for the saturation options, tho it sounds like you may be covered for that.
The new Molot is excellent, if you want something interesting sounding comp wise.
Yes all quite cpu demanding. I use a different laptop from my work MacBook currently for music which stacks up quite quickly with them so I tend to use other options.
I am really into TDR and might come back round to using them. I also like to keep my software choices minimal so I don't overlap and get to know my tools deeply.
I might get the GE of kotelnikov one day as it's a really great compressor. They do some very generous sales here and there as well.
In summary, Molot for some very interesting colouration.

I never ever use Nova to boost, only cut. It's probably one of my top 3 used plugins the way it's able to help fix anything I consider minor to major. I love it.kritikon wrote: Mon Dec 13, 2021 12:21 am Thanks, I'll check out NOVA. Eq gizmos I'm not so keen on. NOVA
SLICK
KOTELNIKOV
Molot I have but never use. ITB I use Kotelnikov (slow), FIRCOMP (fast), and Unisum (master). For color I use Goodhertz Tupe and Vulf. For limiting, I use UrsaDSP Boost and newfangled Elevate.

Limiter 6 is nice, but it takes some time to learn this plugin, otherwise the results might get worse instead of better

Molot is very good if you use compression for shaping. The middle knob (forget what it's called) is super nice. Can take the compression from being super soft and mu-like to super snappy. It feels like having multiple compressors on one without having too complicated interface like DC8C or Presswerk.
I'm about to get a bunch of replies "alerting" me that some plugins that I own and use have "easy" modes.

Have the Bundle & can recommend it. The only one I could never really wrap my head around is the OD DeEdger thingy.

Nova is a really underrated wideband compressor as well - it don't have to be used as an EQ. In a way, it is a channel strip: compression, eq, gate, filters, dynamic eq, de-essing etc. If i could only choose one plugin to mix an album with, it would be Nova. Nova can replace like 10 plugins imo.
