I'm curious to see how many of you are using a 4K on their music production setup. I've made the switch 6 months ago and I can't see myself going back. However, many plugins and apps are still not made for 4K, including my own plugins. This is something that is coming in 2022 for SampleScience, along with other updates.

Im on a laptop. Just curious. Is there a big difference between producing on a regular monitor vs 4k?

Since the early adoption of 4K.

More screen space plus better quality that is easy on eye - helps a lot. Once you try it, there is no coming back (:

No. I have no desire to have a monitor where half my plug ins are too small. My main monitor is a Slate Raven which is 1080p, and the secondary one is an ancient 1920 x 1200. When I do switch to a 4k it's going to be some ridiculous size thing like the 43" Dell.

I'm very glad about that as well. Full HD here, and not likely to change soon.

Yeah, already on 1080p there are some plug ins that are tiny to me. Mostly I stick with developers who've already moved to resizable GUI's but Kontakt, NI in general, plus a slew of others aren't getting modern GUIs anytime soon, and my secondary monitor is where VEP lives. So the whole idea of not being able to use the 4K setting and reducing resolution to get decent sizes on Kontakt etc. is counter intuitive. Everyone knows the later you buy with tech the better it is, so why buy a 4k, drop the resolution to below what it can handle, years before your working environment can handle 4K?

I have done, but at this time no. This is 3072 pixels horizontal. MBP 16" Retina.

the difference for me and my MBP then was it meant more things are visible, that's all. This is a much better display than those ones, note well, but it does 3072.

Two 4k monitors and one 1080p, I drag the obsolete tiny ones to the 1080p monitor to be able to see them. It keeps me from swearing at NI and Universal Audio.

I'm using a 27", 2K monitor - which seems about right for the size. No need for anything larger here.

I spent so much time in front of a computer that the difference is really important. I do a lot of graphic design and UI design though. If I wouldn't, I would have probably stuck to a 1080p monitor.

The industry is slow to adapt to new stuff. It's just logical for me to be slow to adapt to new tech as well.

The GPU takes care of the display so it doesn't change anything unless you're using a very old or low-end PC.

I voted no, however I did just upgrade to a 32 inch 2k monitor (2560 x 1440) after years of being on 23 inch 1080p monitors. It's a welcome change.
4k would be nice but was out of my price range for now.
