This pedal popped up elsewhere as well, thanks, one more to listen toresynthesis wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 11:20 pm Barber Gain Changer is ace. I built one years ago (David Barber actually put up the schematic on DIYSB or FSB). Honestly, I've never heard a bad Barber pedal. They don't often get the praise they're due!
All things pedal related.

Still looking to find a cool boutique filter I like, a couple candidates I have in mind:
Iron Ether Xerograph Deluxe
All Pedal Macrodose
*The GFI Rosie is interesting as well, though mostly I am after analog stuff as I am somewhat of an analog snob.
* A lot of the filter pedals are geared towards funk, which I am not super into. I may have to get
a desktop unit, like an Analog Heat or something...

Not ultra boutique, but Dreadbox Kinematic may be worth a look

ive got an ehx blurst. lopass only, but has and lfo and such, can be expression controlled, isn't astronomically priced.

Believe me, your choice of filter pedals has not gone unnoticed by me. I'm just weirdvurt wrote: Fri Dec 31, 2021 12:09 am ive got an ehx blurst. lopass only, but has and lfo and such, can be expression controlled, isn't astronomically priced.
and like unusual stuff. While I don't rule the major players out, I tend to look elsewhere,
at least initially.
*Except for the Strymon stuff, which I mostly regard as general purpose, workhorse effects.

Very probably I just need to buy the Fairfield Circuitry EQ,
Or even the MXR Ten Band EQ, as mostly I just want to plain filter stuff, though you can externally modulate the Fairfield EQ at least, if desired. It's definitely expensive, no doubt there is some design quality there as well.

There’s a second hand Old Blood “Mondegreen” pedal going cheap, but it seems to be mono and I’m only after stereo effects for my studio FX bus. There’s only one thing it does I’m interested in and it’s a mode that adds an octave on every delay repeat. Anyone know if there’s a plugin that does a similar job? I may try building a similar effect in VCV Rack or Voltage Modular anyway as it seems a fun project, never tried simulating an audio effect.

I was going to just mention getting Hedra. It’s stereo too so it’s worth looking at.

Yes, the closest I’ve got to that effect is Valhalla Shimmer, but the plugin seems more subtle.elxsound wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 4:36 pmOn each repeat, it adds another octave?WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 3:42 pm There’s a second hand Old Blood “Mondegreen” pedal going cheap, but it seems to be mono and I’m only after stereo effects for my studio FX bus. Edit: Actually, I can get close using Medla's MTurboDelayMB. Used a variation of their 'Tap My Pitch Up' model with +12 and +24 semitone repeats and then just stuck a couple more in series with that making sure only the highest freq band gets the delay applied. Not perfect, but a decent starting point.
Edit v2: And googling some more realised I can get close to this using Eventide Crystals which I got when I upgraded from a few plugins to their H9 bundle. Now that is good enough.

Hmm, I bought stomp button caps as I wanted to see if I liked them. I do actually, very nice for pedals
