128 is quite too less, no wonder that there will be spikes. The CPU has nearly no time to react to the input
You surprise me now?! This sounds like an answer from 2010!
In 2010 I was actually already using 128-256 samples latency when creating/recording music.
512-2048 when mixing.

We must have higher standards my friend :pray:

I agree. I can load as many instances of Serum and Spire as I desire with 128 samples.

So I really don't find it an acceptable workaround. There is something fundamentally wrong that needs to be fixed with M1 Pro / Max + VPS Avenger.

For now if I want to use VPS Avenger, I just crack it up to 512 samples. But I shouldn't have to be doing this.

Post

It isn't just the M1, it is indeed though more so on the mac than the pc. Been complaining about it for years but clearly Vengeance doesn't see it as an issue despite no other vsti behaving like that I own or have used.

I don't even know how one plays at 512 even on an rme audio card, probably have to quantize everything.

Yeah, it is quite interesting.

edit: Also I noticed that the sounds are being played automatically when scrolling threw the samples? However it doesn't happen for all of them. :hug:

Once that speaker icon is on, it should play all as you scroll them...I guess the odd part is it didn't do it for all of them?

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Indeed. Quite odd behaviour that it didn't do it for all sounds. But I figured that it should be playing automatically as a "showcase", just didn't do it for all of them initially.

I did install Avenger update ver.1.8 over ver 1.7. I was using a dongle with codemeter protection and everything was fine until i installed version 1.8. Vst2 was blacklisted and Vst3 was not recognized in Cubase 11. After contacting support, Rene suggested to install/repair VC-redist. I did that, but still the same. Then version 1.8.2 came out and i tried again my luck but still nothing. So i did a complete uninstall and a new installation. No luck again. Version 1.8.2 Vst3 is recognized from Cubase and Vst2 is NOT blacklisted but when i try to load the plugin it says: "Cannot create plugin instance". I did format my drive and installed new Windows 10 and still the same. Everything is checked about plugins in folders and YES they are correct installed and in the correct place. Drivers updated etc
Do you guys think i have a hardware compatibility problem?
My system specs:
CPU: AMD phenom x4 955 Black edition
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon R7 250x
Windows 10 Pro 21H1 on SSD drive.

Please help anyone. Do i miss anything? Rene at the support is not fast enough

I did downgrade and it worked like before. The weird thing is: I kept the "VPS Avenger.plugin" file from version 1.7 and when i installed version 1.8.2 i replaced ONLY this file. Plugin in Cubase 11 is working as it should BUT it says that i have 8 days left with my licence. This means that the "VPS Avenger.plugin" from 1.8.2 version is not recognizing my new licence.
May i ask you in Windows where the licence file has to be? In my case when i download the keyfile within V-manager is in: C:\ProgramData\Vengeance\VPS Avenger. I tried to move the file eveywhere but it doesn't work.

In the C:\ProgramData\Vengeance\VPS Avenger location Avenger has a file called config.xml which contains version element. Maybe they are using it in the plugin and you have plugin file in higher version than the rest of the files.

Mine has:

Code: Select all

<version value="1.8.2" />

If you want to keep on modifying your installation outside the installer I'd suggest to update config file with this element <version value="1.8.2" />, so the file starts as following.

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<Avenger>
    <version value="1.8.2" />
    ...
</Avenger>

My installation of Avenger in Ableton 11 is loading MSVCP140.dll library from VC++-redist (thread exists only when plugin window is active). It is installed in version 14.30.30704.0 on my system, name of the component is Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - 14.30.30704, date of installation is 23.12.2021.
Check exact version of VC++ redist you've installed (MSVCP140.dll is in C:\Windows\System32 folder). I'm also on Windows 10 Pro, version 21H1.

@Daniel i modified the config file and did check for Visual C++ redist. All in place but no luck

we will start again in 2022. Was long paused, since the 1.8. update had to be made
I have collected many new ideas during that time however :lol:

@Laz: you should really contact support. No one here can really help you with that.
