Hi,

I find my finished tracks change speed part the way through by 1 or 2 bpm, any idea why this happens?

Cheers

Probably there is some tempo automation on master channel ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No, none

Tempo information stored in a midi clip?
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Slim Phatty | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

Scenes can set BPM and time sig, Looper can set BPM, several M4L devices can set BPM, Python Remote Scripts can set BPM.

There is MIDI Sync, Ableton Link and (audio input's) Tempo Follower too, not sure those show as Automation in the Master Track.

Tap Tempo is unlikely to be triggered by mistake.

Tempo Leader Clips will show as Song Tempo Automation in the Master Track.

Ya don't naa-eed ta automate tempo

I have no automation on my master channel in any shape or form

Do you have a red dot on the tempo at the top (which would mean it has automation on it)? I'm guessing not, but if so then try Show Automation?

Based on previous replies this probably won't help but worth a quick try.

Does the BPM as shown (number displayed) change, or does it just seem faster?

If the BPM as displayed has not changed, then likely you have some clips that are not correctly looped and possibly are slightly too short.

Bpm doesn't move on Ableton but only cdj it jumps about a bit.

It’s likely one of 3 issues…

1. As mentioned, if using loops, check your looped content in Clip View to ensure you have proper loops.

2. For longer tracks, check that the warp markers are correctly placed.

3. If all of the above is not a problem I would ask on a dedicated CDJ forum about sync issues, or contact Ableton directly. They’ll ask you to send the project to identify the problem.

I doubt it’s a sync issue if you’re only having this problem with just the one project. More than likely it’s warp markers not lined up correctly or again loops that are slightly too short (which becomes noticeable as the some continues to play on).

Is there any hardware connected sending tempo info? You mention a CDJ. Does this happen with the hardware disconnected? If so you should get a decent MIDI monitor program to see what data is being transmitted on which channel(s).
