Dear KVR Members,

To celebrate the beginning of 2022, we have released an update for all our free plug-ins, adding Apple silicon support, among several improvements.

The new versions of the 7 free plug-ins now support the new Apple M1, M1X and M1 Pro processors natively, for optimal performance and compatibility. The update also includes improvements in its MIDI implementation, performance tweaks, and several fixes for the VST3 plug-in format (details below). It is a recommended (free!) update, fully compatible with the previous versions of the plug-ins.

All these free plug-ins (Blue Cat's Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, FreqAnalyst, Gain Suite, Triple EQ and Free Amp) are available separately or as part of the "Blue Cat's Freeware Pack" bundle. They are 100% free and do not require any registration, dongle, or mailing list subscription. They can be downloaded freely on www.bluecataudio.com.

So many things to do, so little time!

Great freebies, I have many of their paid ones, but from the freebies the gain suite is a beauty. And the chorus remains a favourite

It would appear that none of the VST3 version of Triple EQ 4 (Dual) controls work on an M1 Max/OS 12.1 running Cubase 11. The plug-in will respond to the factory preset changes but the controls remain inactive. All the other VST3 versions in the pack work fine.

Other'n that, nice gift.

Thanks for the heads up. It seems that there is indeed an issue that affects only the VST3 version, in Cubase. We will look into it. In the meantime you may want to use the VST version instead that works flawlessly.

A preview of the free pack with a fix is now available here (VST and VST3 formats only):

There are a couple of impacting changes for VST and VST3 parameters management, so please tell us if it works well for you too!

What's New In Preview:
- Fixed Triple EQ (Dual) VST3 plug-in (and Gain Suite) not updating its parameters properly in Cubase (regression).
- VST & VST3: fixed some automation issues in Cubase 10.5+ and Ableton Live for some plug-ins (Gain Suite, Triple EQ Dual).

Thank you for the updates, especially for macOS. I imagine it’s a ton of work and a lot of headaches jumping through all of the hoops to keep software running on up to date Apple computers. It’s much appreciated. :tu:

Thanks, it's indeed quite a bit of (dirty) work. We should hopefully be able to focus on other (more interesting) stuff now!
