Tone2 vs KVR VST Pricing

I fell in love with tone2 VSTs and noticed the price on kvr-audio is $20 less than on the Tone2 website. Does that mean that kvr offer good bargains compared to the actual Devs ? I wanted to buy all of them especially Icarus and Electra but their prices seem a bit high for a sale or maybe I'm missing something ? I wrote to them but they said they are already heavily discounted but it's more than I paid for Dune 3 and Pigments 3 so Is it cheaper to buy software here at KVR vs direct from the Dev ? No, it's not necessarily cheaper to buy here than on the vendors own web store. Only with some products.

Tone2 have a sale on their site. The whole year long. The synths are full price on some web stores, unless they have sporadic sales. Tone2 is pretty weird in that regard. Usually, you pay less in web stores than when you buy directly from the vendor. With Tone2, it's different, mostly.

I installed Firebird last year and thought Whoa (being an amateur musician in the learning phase) then installed the demo of Electra and Icarus and thought Yikes I wanted a special price on all of the VSTs as one bundle but the Dev wanted me to wire over $750 to a private bank and then wait weeks for the keys to the VSTs and I just thought that was a bit Iffy tbh and I didn't want to take the risk. I'm still in the learning phase of music production but some VSTs are just awesome but prices are insane for someone who's never made a dime from music. I'll mull Tone2 over but I love the sounds but not the price

Some fine print with Tone 2 - Only plugins bought directly from their site are re-sellable (one time, then become Not For Resale like licenses bought elsewhere).

Are you sure you contacted Markus Krause (the Tone2 dev)? That doesn't sound at all like something he'd do.

Yeah. I've had several dealings with Markus (and others at Tone2) over the years, and they've always been up-front and above-board with everything.

No way. That doesn’t sound at all like Markus or Tone2. Tone2 is a reputable company and Markus is active on this forum. Sounds like you were being scammed by someone pretending to be the developer.

I wrote Tone2 email and it was a genuine reply and I asked for a special sale price if I bought all vsts in one go as a non professional and I provided ID proof but tone2 stated that samples were already heavily reduced but I said I wasn't interested in the samples I wanted the vsts as music is my hobby and the only way he could do it was to offer them for $777 but I had to wire it to a private bank and then wait for it to go through to get the keys and I just felt that was unprofessional and I have my own business which is fashion design ok but I just felt that I was not prepared to send the money to a private bank because I thought it was a simple case of paying Tone2 the $777 to the company Bank but he didn't want me to do that and he was not a scammer but I just felt that the method of purchasing software was a little bit unprofessional and I wasn't prepared to take the chance of waiting 3 weeks purely for the keys.

The subject has been sorted I guess I will have to buy Tone2 VSTs 1 by 1 but it did say 50% sale but their vsts appear more expensive than some other companies full price but that is their prerogative and that is what I stated to Tone2.

I believe Icarus 2 is currently on sale (50% reduction in price direct from Tone2)
I have no idea how long the sale will last. The email arrived yesterday.

Just re-read the email, the above price might be limited to existing Tone2 customers.

I don’t know if they did it this year, but in previous years they’ve had good two for one sales around the holidays. Some partnership with EastWest… I think. My favorite Tone2 plugins are Icarus and Nemesis, but they’re all kind of good.

With respect I sent you the email to your department and i do not have any reason to state untruth. I sent you the email just before Christmas and you told me that you did not usually do bundles and your finance operation was not geared up for that but you could do me 777 but I would have to send it to a different bank that you gave me and I would have to wait for you to get the monies into your account and then you would release the keys.

Please do not suggest to the forum that I went on eBay I have the email on my Gmail I emailed tone2 so please do not suggest it did not happen nonetheless I am just about to spend $1,199 with kontakt for komplete 13 ultimate
