Does Keystep Pro Offer Anything a Good Daw Does Not Offer?

I recently got a Keystep Pro but haven't really used it yet.
I'm wondering whether I can duplicate its functionality in a DAW fairly easily.
I have at least 3 external synths I can control with the KSP, but I don't plan on playing live. Any tips from owners using it with a DAW with good results?
Does it bring anything new to a DAW? My primary DAWs are Studio One, Bitwig, then FL Studio, Waveform, Cakewalk, and Cubase.
Since I just received the KSP, I can still return it.

Yes. Its main selling point is to use it in a DAW-less environment, where you control hardware directly without the need for a computer.Musical Gym wrote: Wed Jan 05, 2022 10:13 amI'm wondering whether I can duplicate its functionality in a DAW fairly easily.

Thanks. I like the quick idea-generating aspect of it and that it can control my external synths simultaneously, but the on-board editing/tweaking for probability of each step, etc. seems a bit tedious.

Why don't you just plug it in and test it? It has some cool randomise functions. The fact you can select a key and then sequence stuff on all 3 sequencers and globally transpose is a cool feature.

I think I've watched enough videos to see what it can do. I also got a new audio interface so the money got stretched a bit. Also, after I bought it, the price went down. Most vendors were selling it for around $499, but Amazon went from $389 to $372 shortly after I purchased. I can always buy again if I think I really need it.
