Your favorite "versatile analog-modelled/emulation" synth plugin?

What would be your only Analog Synth plugin?

Matrix 12V for programming fun.

For sound - I don't think I could pick just one. I like a lot of them.

Softube Model 84 I have a few nice analog synths here, and this is easily the closest to analog.. make sure to get the JP and Matt Johnson presets for it..

It's not a great question, for a couple of reasons, but HEY! Let's see what happens.

I guess I would probably pick Diva, just because it's versatile, and if you only get ONE, it would cover a lot of ground, and I refuse to break the rules and pick an all-in-one or a wavetable synth. [side-eye to half of the answers]

I don't think Diva is the greatest analog emulation, though, so please note that it's based on versatility. I'd be inclined to choose RePro 5 as the "best" analog emulation, and you CAN get a lot of different sounds out of it, so if I had bigger balls, that would be my answer. But I also agree with the last bloke who said "Model 84," 'cause, yeah, that sounds great too. I suppose I could have said "Softube Modular" and gotten all of the Tea in China, but it eats my CPU for breakfast when I try anything more than a monosynth with it.

Does Roland's System-8 count? It's "analog modeled," right?

How about Native Instruments' Super 8? That's also "modeled."

Both would also make excellent choices and I would be moderately happy with either.

But I'll admit: I'm not a big fan of the "only one" question. It presupposes there is any value in having only one of anything. I am convinced there is not.

they could only be heard and utilized in the ANALOG domain

mr alias may NOT be an explicitly analog emulation

but

is wood DIGITAL ??

I think not .wood cannot exist in the DIGITAL realm

trees are not made of ones and zeroes and are thusly non-digital

an emulation of wood CANNOT be said to be digital in origin

Repro probably sounds more analog, Diva is more sonically flexible.

TAL Software's TAL-Mod. From his site:- " TAL-Mod is a virtual analog SYNTHESIZER". If I could only pick just one plugin instrument to use it would be TAL-Mod without any doubt. So flexible. Covers all my sound needs. Fun to use. Inspirational. It really feels like someone has designed a plugin to fit my own specific requirements
