Yeah, especially the one for PC, which was available a long time now for $1 a month. At least in the first month, I think you paid $9.99/month after that.

I played through The Outer Worlds for a dollar. Not sure if I would have paid more though... the game is kind of lame if you played Fallout New Vegas, and compare it to that, which a lot of people did, and which doesn't do either of them justice.

Roland Cloud.

IMO, no other subscription is worth it, not at their prices. [EDIT: synth subscriptions. Yeah, yeah, all the Amazon and Game Pass and Netflix jokes are hilarious, guys. You have me in stitches. ] If you put a gun to my head and forced me to take a second, it would probably be the PhasePlant guys, but MAN does that seem grossly overpriced.

At least with RC I feel like I'm getting my $200 worth in a year. ...Especially with their ... [ahem; are you really going to make me say this?!] Play4Life ... thingie.

I would never begrudge anyone their anti-subscription stance, though. It's a depressing trend and I wish I weren't "buying into it." ...but when it makes sense, it makes sense. Alas.

One reason for me to get iZotopes Music Production Suite 4.1 was the included 12 months Groove3 subscription. 167$ crossgrade price for any advanced owner was a great deal because of it.

What would make ANY subscription worth it is if you are using and utilizing the products that come with it. I use only 4 products in Adobe Cloud, but I find it completely worth what I pay for it. Same with Roland Cloud, and even Slate.

If I did not own Reason and most of their RE's, then even Reason+ would be a good deal...as long as I used it.

I enjoyed Composer Cloud (EWQL) so much I started buying the products that I used and no longer need it. I think that is what I would say for subscriptions that offer a purchase option, use till you can buy what you use out of it.

Just wish there was just one VOD subscription to rule them all. Netflix, Prime, Disney, Sky, Apple TV and MUBI.... just... too. much. Glad there is no HULU in Germany, because I'd most probably subscribe to that one, too  .

None is the best one for me.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

My contact lenses, using a daw would suck without those.

The free Roland cloud subscription is good.
It gives you almost everything for the first month to try.
I realized that I only liked the Zenology pro, so got that, and done.
It's a great sound design tool, whereas the old recreations didn't do anything much for me there.

Plugin Alliance, $15 per month for about 100 top shelf products and a $200 voucher each year. It's a sweet deal if you like their products, which I do

Isn't that rather prescription than subscription?

How does the $200 work? Is there a minimum spent rule like with their other vouchers? (Just curious)
Its a good idea though, some sort of rent-to-buy without the need to know in advance what to buy…
Personally its nothing for me, as I have all I need from PA already and doubt I ever paid more than their monthly rate per month within a year (and still get vouchers - I should start to sell them…; - )

you need to spend it in one hit, so it's best deployed during one of their big sales unless there's some new plugin you really, really want and you're about to terminate the sub (as it will go on sale for less sometime later). no minimum spend.

technically, there's a time limit to use the voucher but it's a full year from the beginning of the sub and I think they've said that they won't enforce the time limit.

if there's stuff you want or think they will release, it's a pretty good deal. the counter to that is: how many different vintage channel strips, compressors and eqs do you really need?

+1 (Love the Roland Plugins but some of them have some annoying bugs that i hope will be fixed soon).

I'll keep the sub until I have what I need, or more likely until I have what I want

It's nice to have time to learn how to use the different stuff and compare, and then decide which one you'll keep, and they have some excellent synths and other stuff as well
