If you happen to have any of the delay based Melda MB plugins, you can do this with its envelope follower set to follow the input(i think it's called "direct"). Melda plugins also have adjustable interpolation and resolution for control data so they can do pretty clean audiorate stuff. More than makes up for the mediocrity/ cookie cutter nature of the algos themselves

Not an effect obviously but still can be used in a very similar way is in Pigments, with the Sample module. There's a FM shaper mode located in the FX section of the Sample module. What I like to do is bounce the audio I'd like to have a FM effect, load it into Pigments and use the FM effect. There's a lot of wave choices from sin to noise to choose from as the modulator. Worth experimenting...

...speaking of, can I still get the patch? I've searched everywhere for another solution, but found nothing but frustration. Apparently 10 years isn't enough time for plugin makers to catch up to you.CinningBao wrote: Sun Jan 09, 2022 3:36 pm You're not too wrong, but my patch treats another audio signal as if it's the modulation signal, where it would normally be a sine or triangle (to do a chorus, for example). Also the depth of the modulation plays quite a big part, where in chorus' etc you've normally got no more than 50 ms to play with, there is much more in my patch.
If you've got bidule, you should try this patch. It's not quite what you think.
Every few years I'll get a DM asking for a link to it, so I'm guessing there is nothing else like it out there (for which I'm mildly proud).

I saw that when it came out and it doesn't quite do the thing my thing does does (FM one audio signal against another audio signal), which is why people keep coming to my tool.nominil wrote: Thu Nov 03, 2022 12:55 am I think Phase Mutant does this:

In Phase Mutant you're just modulating their in-built sine/tri/whatever.

You mean somethng ike this ?

Just mdulate the delay time of a high quality interpolated delay buffer in reaktor .
The left input is a drumloop (modulator), the right input (carrier) is a simple low pass filtered square(gforce sem)
First dry , then processed
Second example a simple sine wave as carrier(same drumloop as modulator ) , but you can feed whatever you want it
Or modulate a drumloop by itself , example 3 and example 5
Or modulate drumloop by melodie(sine waves ), example 4 https://app.box.com/s/1ex1n8bnq8rp5g6eumxwskyhjvp8mwwj

Well, yes, that's what it does. However, there are two approaches; offset the bipolar waveform so it peaks at 0 sample delay (but you need to pre-delay things), or rectify it to use 0 samples delay as the zero cross point of the waveform.
Your method uses the former, mine uses the latter.
Still though, no commercial alternatives.

I could just throw in a rectifier etc , all this is done in primary , If i really want to get my hands dirty I dive into core .
Which is why reaktor is my weapon of choice for over 2 decades

I don't need to predelay things , the buffer of the delay module is set to 1000ms (which is set in the delay module settings page ) , the delay time itself is set to 0msCinningBao wrote: Thu Nov 03, 2022 1:16 pm Well, yes, that's what it does. The modulation amount which determins the FM amount is around 50 ms ..which modulates the buffer instantly .
If I increase the delay time offset , then yes there will be a certain delay but it's not necessary to do that .

no soft modular trick for it?
interesting thread by the way, when i have time i will download the examples of genteclockdivider, and will PM... for the Bidule patch.
