Hi,
I've finished a new kind of experiment for me.
There are some melody / theme ideas I've head for over an year.
I've tried to pay more attention to the 'mastering' part / loudness.
I'd be nice to see how it translates also to other monitors / sound systems

Kindly let me know what you think, and thanks for the listen.

jackoo,
Thank you for reviewing my music! What state or country are you from? Can't be Antarctica.....can it? Now your song: sounds rather 80's, which is right up my alley. It's probably recorded at home, but somehow I picture this being played live for some reason. Must be the violin. Nice song and melodies! I wish the nice bells played out a bit longer. Good job!

Thanks a lot for listening. I have a soft spot for 80s synths. It might sound more live, because it mostly /sort of is - at least for the drums / bass / synths. It's based on a scripted jam track played over in realtime, and there's no note quantization in the main synth (well that is when the patterns start and stop - excluding the arpeggiator) or the violins...
Cheers!

Really enjoyable track - great violin melody!
Background groove works well throughout...might've liked a little more variation maybe in the middle somewhere? Bit like that lovely, short piano moment at the end (4 mins 23 secs)?
Production sounds fine on my system...maybe a little bit of muddiness, but nothing that intruded in a big way...doesn't spoil the listen.

Top line melodies are strong throughout.
The backing, other than chord changes, is quite static and therefore less intereting than it could be. The effects on the backing synths sound kind of blurry. I'm not a fan of that slow sidechaining effect on the bass.
Overall, quite good because the melody is first rate.

Thanks so much for the listen, Frantz, it is strongly appreciated.Frantz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 5:05 am Top line melodies are strong throughout.

I'm actually most interested about the effectiveness of the melody, so thanks for your comment on that.
You make some very good points, but sometimes I need to balance the quality vs. time dedicated. This is unfortunately still only a hobby. Wish I could dedicate more resources to my music...
Thanks a lot and cheers!

Liked the song and the elements you used.
However, mixing could be improved a lot. There's just too much going on with the mids ... lower mids downwards. Needs really cleaning up.
You could try and put some elements up an octave and high pass certain elements to take their unwanted lower freqs out.
