hey guys im thinking about getting a new CPU/PC soon/or later, depends on money of course :/
atm i got the Intel i7-7700K 4.20 GHz with 32GB and the RAM is no prob so far but i get lately with all the plugins more CPU spikes, of course with the new fancy plugins like soothe, omnisphere etc. but why i ask is cause i dont want to plan and spend money when the issue might be more on the DAW or maybe unoptimized plugins or maybe even win10. but i checked a benchmark and the current around 300 bucks intel CPU (still on the fence if i should switchc to AMD chip this time) seems to be more than twice as fast than my cpu so theoretically if i hit 90% cpu in FL Studio i should get around 45% with a new cpu?

Truth is what you have is good to go for now. There will be a paradigm shift soon. It hasn't hit yet. Just hold until the new tech drops.

I second that about reaper, much faster. It's at the speed of fl studio 64 bit for comparison.
Athlons in My experience (after buying a very expensive one) are good but only if you're willing to spend a lot on memory and raw horsepower. Intel is better for a cheaper setup.

Edit: though I should add that plugin scan in reaper or fl studio 20 is not as fast as fl studio 11 64 or 32, which is why I often use 11 most times.

Reaper is dramatically more efficient than FL Studio - especially if you're using a system with more cores.

You can’t go wrong the 12th Gen Intel, the M1, or the latest AMD chips. FLS may not make use of all that power.

Just be careful with what motherboard you choose for the AMD chip. The USB ports on my x570 are dead.
