That's because the mags. don't want you or anybody else to hear about it, or any other trackers, or any other music programs that don't fit into their little 'boxes'...

Surely you've got this round the wrong way? Did FL come out before Protracker then?
Trackers invented the pattern sequencer, Buzz has the best and most useful variant of it, and FL has used the same idea.
It's a shame that Renoise hasn't got Buzz's sequence editor, as it's one of the best parts of Buzz, and should be easy to implement in Renoies. (After all, it's just a case of saying 'Track 01=01' on the sequence editor, and making a new screen to display this.)

The drugs don't work, they just make it worse....
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Skale is another good tracker. However I must say renoise is way better and has much more features.
I can think of two things skale has that renoise does currently not have. Skale can act as a vsti, and import sf2 (soundfonts).
In everey other way renoise is IMO much better.

Renoise has multible note and fx columns per track:
http://tutorials.renoise.com/index.php/Renoise/Tracks

Way better vst(i) implantation. Fully customizable interface with over 350 customizable shortcuts.
Lots of lots of tiny details and small features that will always make you learn something new and better to improve your workflow.
Really good Automation.
And finally very good support.

But this is easy for you to try yourself.
Skale is totally free. Renoise is almost free only limited by rendering options and ASIO support for non registered users.

Try the demos and decide for yourself.

Happy tracking!

You really need professional help with your mental health problems. I particularly like this definition of paranoia:

"A psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason."

"Logic and Reason" - oh the irony! :hihi:

If the tracker interface works for you then renoise is the right app. worked for me straight away since I started music making with ST3 and FT2. It just made sense from the start when I started the program.. the sampler interface itself is so powerful you could do a whole song with a couple of samples but the VST support is a long waited addition and finally it works as it should (expandable polyphony/effect rows on tracks etc). luckily the "demo" has save feature enabled so you can try the program and get used to it.. now I think I must buy the full version to get ASIO support for better response. :)

no, there are trackers for macs as well.
If the macs like this I don't know.

btw, renoise 1.5 beta 2 ist just out, and so far it looks very stable, and all the vst compatibility issues of the previous 1.5 beta are gone.
The only plugin from my vast collection that doesn't work as expected in renoise is blockfish. Loaded in renoise it becomes a generator producing a nice screeching sound.
