hi folks
i'm interested to know how many plugins that can make both tempo based gate reverb and tempo based reverse gate
I, for one, know Valhalla Ubermod and, less versatile but way more easier on that task : Tone2 Ultraspace
Are they any others, those two being a bit old ?

UltraTap has a "Gated Punch Verb" preset that might do what you're looking for if you play around with it. You can download an uninhibited 30 day demo to try it.

If you do, try it with high "Slurm" and using the "Spread/Taper" knobs.

Phonlyth's Velvet Machine has tempo-synced pre-delay and reverb time, plus you can shape the reverb with breakpoints

perhaps some new feature (stereo spatialisation for instance) in the future ?

Spatialisation as in manipulation of the stereo field? The Width knob spreads the echos, and seems mono-compatible (collapsing to mono presents no phase problems) but if that doesn't work for you it might be worth letting them know how it could be improved.
mono-in -> Width 100% -> signal is wide and mono-compatible

judging by the site's related page, reverb and gate is implemented, as well as a "reverse" algorithm, ...but no tempo-based parameters AFAIKAndywanders wrote: Tue Jan 11, 2022 10:19 am Haven't used it for ages, but I think Breverb 2 does this.

Obvs you can do that type of stuff by setting predelays and rev times in msecs if you work out from tempo, but I assume you mean some reverb plugins let you set it by 1/16, 1/8, triplets or whatever? Sounds quite useful, certainly time saving. Didn't even know that was a thing. I guess you could include Valhalla delay too, as you can set delay times by tempo etc but with full diffusion on some of its delays it's more of a reverb than delay anyway, with added bonus that you can have feedback rather than just one reverb sound.

talking about valhalla stuff, Ubermod does this quite well...kritikon wrote: Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:12 pm Obvs you can do that type of stuff by setting predelays and rev times in msecs if you work out from tempo, but I assume you mean some reverb plugins let you set it by 1/16, 1/8, triplets or whatever? Goodhertz Megaverb has the most ridiculously versatile gate/ducker I've found on a reverb. Both PreDelay and GateTime can be tempo-synced, there are several inverse algorithms, 3 gate detection modes, and a sidechain. There's nothing else like it.
EA/iZotope R4 also has tempo-sync PreDelay + Reverb delay, fully tweakable attack for reverse effects, and a gate, plus a late reverb ducker.
