This had been in another post that was in regards to SSD's and I felt the mention of this nice cheap power supply deserved its own post.

Many argue at full load (watch this vid: this)
You'll only be 8% more efficient; but what about under 30%? Quite often we'll have towers with the capability for stats like gaming to make audio, and yet we rarely use the resources installed.

If you were to look at the efficiency at 10-20-30% in a bronze power supply, you'd realize that the efficiency was 60-70% (though they say "80+") or maybe a bit more. And basically if you look at it, that's really only the difference of a few volts versus full load. Why don't they share with us this valuable info?

And furthermore I notice also, that the curve would suggest often that at numbers like 10% it would dip far below 80 or 90 depending on the stats of the card. Why not share these stats also, because you would think they'd be good reasons to get a sale of a platinum rated power supply. Talk about poor marketing.

80% power efficiency maybe in some cases for an audio setup at a 30% max power consumption rate, but doubtful. I would think more than likely, you would be at 65-70-75% efficiency because of how little power you're using. Efficiency and regulated power goes a bit further for all hardware including ssd's. Here's a cool power supply at a good price that I'd recommend.

The thing is, most info we're getting off youtube is for gamers. We have very different needs as audio engineers. Youtube used to have many more search results also, which is sad. It's now more for a few laughs here and there, which is cool but now I've been turning to bing and google video search for educational related video searches.

After a year I wanted to report it works fairly well, but it runs a bit hotter than some other platinum power supplies I've seen. Still quiet however, and that is nice.
