Hi!
(@Mods: not sure if that really belongs to this section, my appologies if it doesn't and don't hesitate to move it to the right section)
Do you have any suggestions for packs/libraries of experimental wavetables? My wavetable synth is Pigments 3. When I say experimental, I mean wavetables not made for emulating classic synth oscillators but to create all sorts of weird and unorthodox sounds. Wavetables outside the box so to say.
Please share
Thanks

Soundware might have been more appropriate.
In any case there's a load of stuff for free (including wavetables and wavetable VST synths) over at:

I've been experimenting with the wonderful world of wavetables myself and I think I have some cool suggestions. I would also add that quality is much more important than quantity when I'm looking for wavetables. That's why I intentionally look for more cutting-edge and modern wavetables when I'm not making them myself. I'm taking a break to prevent ear fatigue, so I might as well list some resources I've discovered over the last year. I hope you can find something that inspires you.Neon Breath wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 5:30 pm

1. Spektralisk Polychrome for Vital includes 100 presets and 50 wavetables. You can also get the wavetables for free if you don't want or need the presets. https://spektralisk.gumroad.com/l/RnKLM
2. Spektralisk Wavemorph Wavetable Collection comes with a recently updated pack of 250 excellent tables. Daniel has an amazing talent for making presets and wavetables that explore the more experimental side of synthesis. Modern, futuristic and highly recommended!! https://spektralisk.gumroad.com/l/cElOl
3. Frantic Noise Essential Wavetables Vol 1 & 2 offers some pretty extreme examples of the fun to be had with complex tables. https://franticnoise.gumroad.com/l/dtavn
4. Databroth Wavetables Pack was recently updated to include 250 well-designed wavetables that are great for dirty basses and leads. Some of them are also nice for making atmospheres and special effects. https://databroth.gumroad.com/l/oqadV
5. PsyTables by Dadda Vol.1-3 is a great bargain for some truly twisted wavetables, especially Vol.3!!. They are at 2048 samples per frame and in WAV format so they can be used in practically any wavetable synth. Excellent raw materials for creating some of the strangest sounds. https://dadda.gumroad.com
6. Futurephonic Xeno Freqs Future Wavetable Collection by Virtual Light comes with 206 excellent wavetables sorted into twelve different categories. I've been using this expertly-crafted pack in various synths such as Hive 2, Serum, ANA 2, Dune 3.5 and Vital. I reach for these when I want to push the limits of my imagination because of the intricate detail that's been cooked into these wavetables. Awesome pack!! https://futurephoniceducation.selz.com/ ... collection
7. Fractal Sounds Quantum Fold Wavetables comes with 120 diverse tables and is available at a low intro price. Definitely check them out. https://www.fractalsounds.ca/fractalsou ... wavetables
8. Hungalienz Presets for Vital Vol.1 by Napra, Init Preset and Dyfed comes with a massive, eclectic array of 680 wavetables for a ridiculously low price. I'd say this pack has a bit more filler but there's still quite a crazy collection to choose from. https://hungalienz.gumroad.com/l/jPTLW
9. Psymbionic Presents Shapeshifter Wavetables for Serum which comes in WAV format so they can also be used in Pigments. This is a great pack and it's free if you sign up for their mailing list. https://gravitascreate.com/product/psym ... les-serum/
10. Black Octopus Sound Macrosurfing Wavetables by Psymbionic includes 200 wavetables that are a no-brainer if you're into Dubstep, EDM or any other aggressive genre of electronic music. https://blackoctopus-sound.com/product/ ... symbionic/
11. Fractal Sounds The Prophecy Analog Style Wavetables is a pack that brings the analog sound into the digital domain. These are better at creating classic synth sounds. https://www.fractalsounds.ca/fractalsou ... wavetables
I'd be interested if anyone else has any wavetable resources to share here. Thanks.

And, then you can load any wavetable(s), and mix-n-match them with this:

Yeah, lots of gems there, including some classic stuff.

Another thing I find can yield great results is taking weird found sound and importing them into Icarus or Serum.

Absolutely! I love doing that. Serum opened a whole new spectrum of exploration with that feature.zerocrossing wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 4:08 am Another thing I find can yield great results is taking weird found sound and importing them into Icarus or Serum.
Obviously, you can use the waveedit program, which is brilliant btw, (and was written by the dude that created VCV rack), to make wavetables for your future Waldorf M acquisition. Baring in mind its import requirements:

I tried the free Demo wavetable pack the offer as a sneak peak and I have to say they are really cool and fun to mess with. Very unique wavetables creating all types of weird metallic tones and cold drones. I'll continue to explore more but I'll probably end up buying their full Vol1 & 2 packs.morphex wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 2:18 am

Cool, I’m glad that you found them as unique and interesting as I do. The range of possible sounds is truly vast. I think that’s why I enjoy wavetable synthesis so much. I love a good subtractive synth like the next guy, but synths like Serum, Hive and Vital are next level.Neon Breath wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:55 pmI tried the free Demo wavetable pack the offer as a sneak peak and I have to say they are really cool and fun to mess with. Totally. On my side, if you care, with Pigments I combine wavetable synthesis with granular synthesis. Truly powerful and the blend creates amazing and quite unique soundscapes!morphex wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 8:07 pmCool, I’m glad that you found them as unique and interesting as I do. Wow, thanks for this post, haven't seen many of these before. Didn't realise how many heads in the psytrance community were making wavetables now! It was all bass music last time I checked upmorphex wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 2:18 am I've been experimenting with the wonderful world of wavetables myself and I think I have some cool suggestions. @Neon Breath, based on what I've heard of your music I think you'll get a lot of mileage out of this Spektralisk pack! Some really weird stuff in here, the noise ones in particular are very unique.
