I lost my previous post due to a log in issue, so I'll keep this short.

Anyway, I though it would be cool if there were DAWs that took a different approach in looks and functionality than what we have been use to over the years. Going back to the basics of direct recording to tape like systems. My brother bought a big Technics stacker system back in 1992 I remember... It was much cooler than my old NES system that I had before I got my Atari Mega ST system.

Why not just hit up eBay and go for the real thing?

I mean, if you really want to relive that workflow, there’s nothing stopping you and it would probably be cheap

Because that would be the sensible thing to do. But… since that’s an INTRANCER’s thread, don’t expect anything worthwhile

Yeah, along the same sort of lines as Reason but in the digital hi-fi realm.

Stacking DAT / Tape / CD/RW/DVD players, record decks, amplifiers, graphic EQ's, DVD players that will output to videos screens so it wouldn't be all audio based.

The radio tuner could be a way to stream your music live online.

A choice of different hifi systems / separates would certainly be cool to have as part of a different type of recording system. Manufacturers could develop a software equivalent of their old hifi gear which could be integrated into a new piece of recording software.

I had the SX580 in the service, I bought it at a pawn shop in texas with a nice pioneer turntable. Soldiers coming back from Germany always came back with nice stereos, then pawned them

My turntable had a problem after I came home, I took it to a place in Boston to get fixed, they couldnt get the part (motor spindle pulley)...the turntable was German and this was '81
