this one reminds me of the thompson twins.
and the missing persons and the strokes.
and berlin (not the city) and a flock of seaguls

the intro reminds me of pink floyd's time.
she sings "we don't have a lot of time".
coincidence?

My wife is an elementary school counselor, meaning she is also the recess-time DJ , and kids are always giving her current pop suggestions to play. When she put on a recent Jonas Brothers & Marshmello song I immediately started singing Sheena Easton's "My Baby Takes the Morning Train" to the chorus, same I-vi-ii-V7 chord progression.
Ironically the JoBroMello video starts on a train...

i always thought that this song was written by lindsey buckingham since his voice stands out more.
but about a few weeks ago i found out that stevie nicks is the sole writer of the song.
anyways, somehow the songs reminds me of one by prince.

the guitar part reminded me of another song but at first
i couldn't remember what song.
https://youtu.be/FEwmyrzHmqw
the other song might be the one below, with two versions.
the first one is one that has the vocals removed.
https://youtu.be/mBk98FT-wPk
the second one is the full original version.

mister cucumber is an underrated songwriter?
he hears something like the first version and comes up
with lyrics and melodies. amazing.
i wish i could do that.
i read somewhere that all their songs are made that way.
riffs, solos, chords, drum, bass, etc, come first.
lyrics and melodies are done last,
a subsequent reaction to what music was laid down.
i guess it helps that what was laid down first is great music.
"great" is subjective of course.
