Our longest preset name has 44 chars as of yet.
We'll see what happens!

I actually tested with a 500 char preset in dev time to make sure stuff worked.
But anyway, yes that menu isn't great. For now: try the quick search. It is great. Trust me! Just press the magnifying glass and give it a whirl (first time it will build a database and show you a countdown but that's first time only).

You can also use OR, AND, NOT, AUTH="name", and CAT="category" as keywords.

Minor UI bugs; I'm still catching up with the thread but I don't think I have seen those reported:
(Tested in Windows 10)
Mousedown on the buttons for oscillators 1 and 2 highlights the button for #3, same as if I was hovering the pointer over it.
At the same time the pointer changes to the horizontal resize arrows - which I initially thought it meant I could drag the oscillator configuration from one onto another, but that does not seem to be the case; as a matter of fact the pointer disappears if I try and drag the arrows around.
Similarly, mousedown of the left arrow for Category and Patches highlights the corresponding RIGHT arrow.
I can confirm this does not happen in version 1.9.
This is it for now; keep up the great work!

Can confirm the hover issue.
The arrow cursor disappearing is because you have Menu->Mouse Behavior->Show cursor while editing disabled. You can indeed drag to change oscillators, though - even if cursor has gone away.

Congratulations and BIG THANKS Surge Team for getting Surge XT 1.0.0 out, great!!!
One small bug report: When using touch, the faders do not move proportionally to your finger, but much more slowly, so you have to move your finger very far to make a change. In 1.9, faders moved along with your finger just fine (just checked).
(This is on Windows 10 in Bitwig 4.1.2.)
Keep up the good work, thanks!

Did you enable Menu->Mouse Behavior->Touchscreen mode? Works just fine on my Surface Pro 4.
Edit: You might need to set the mouse sensitivity to Exact before enabling touchscreen mode.

This is somewhat more annoying - still nothing major:
Loading a wavetable from file plays the Windows notification sound on completion; it was silent in 9.1, which I think is preferable.

Thanks for the quick reply! That was it, both touch and mouse work fine now, great!EvilDragon wrote: Wed Jan 19, 2022 9:30 pm Did you enable Menu->Mouse Behavior->Touchscreen mode? Works just fine on my Surface Pro 4.

(Out of curiosity, since they seem to work for both touch and mouse, couldn't these settings be made the default?)

This is very cool news! I will look forward to trying it on my Linux machine soon! Thank you very much!

Okay then it's definitely nothing major: I can't seem to replicate it in either Studio One or Live, however, in Cantabile 3, which is the host I'm using for noodling/quick tests, it plays the notification sound as described above. I'll keep an eye out in case it happens in other host applications.
