As an fa owner, the fantom is a miles better.
Screen, real controls , v piano engine amongst others. Rhe keybed has after touch and is a much better bed than even the fa07 (best bed of the 3 fas).
I would live a 6/7 to replace my fa07 but a few things stop me.
1. Price, as I have v piano sounds in my rd2000 and synth sounds in z peak and rev 2 module...the benefits of the fantom over fa AND those options are much lower.
2. Cross comparability. I have about 100 studio sets with maybe 500 sounds programmed for live performance across 3 bands. Many sound I have designed in the sns engine (ie not presets) and I would have to reprogram all those as theres no way to import them into a fantom.
If either of those wernt the case I'd definately have replaced my fa07 with one.

I haven't been a big fan of Roland in many years. That being said I'm really impressed with it as a workstation

I bought one last week, but can't record the Edit Knobs (lit blue, used for the synth editing) into the sequencer or use them for controlling external gear or softsynths, yet I've been told it can be done. What am I doing wrong? Or have I been mislead? I am planning on returning mine as not happy with many of it's flaws. But would purchase it again in the future if things get sorted out via updates.
