I've just changed a fret on a second-hand Vintage VH51FR. I did a fret level and crown and the playability has gone through the roof, just got a rogue fret around the 14th fret on the high G B & E string. Fret rocker action needed.
The bad fret to be replaced.
Used a hot soldering iron on the fret, heat didn't help. I also managed to scratch and chip the fretboard. Masking tape might have helped prevent chipping. Added some PVA glue, I don't know if this is needed, I'm sure it's not going to hurt. New fret inserted. Levelled. Crowning. Would you mask things off? Used a magnet in some kitchen roll to pick up the metal filings and debris from the wire wool used to polish the frets. Nearly finished.

Nearly finished.
The body is supposed to be poplar, it looks a bit dark to me. Another neck pocket that could have been better cut. The action can be set quite low now.

Just FYI - I had a very bad experience with this company.The Noodlist wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 8:56 pm https://elmerguitar.com/ (https://elmerguitar.com/)

I bought a "Nut Saddle Sander" from them and don't think that's a good product. So yesterday I left my 1-star review on their website describing my experience. I checked the website a few times and made sure the review was published at that time. Today - I was checking their website again...you guess it: They deleted my review. What a "smart" move.
No wonder if you go to their website, you will only see 4 or 5-star reviews (at least for this product I bought. Not sure if they have been also practicing this "smart removal of negative reviews" for their other products).
