Good morning guys,

It seems that the Overloud Audio tools team released a new plug-in called TH-U ROCKGUY based on the legendary
Rockman Sustainor and Rockman Stereo Chorus/Delay by Tom Scholz.

This new plug-in has a lot of interesting features that allow us to get the best of those 80s sounds.

I remember the Rockman and Bass Rockman, never owned one but borrowed them through the '80s/'90s..."OMG I can plug this thing into my cassette recorder or 4-track and have it sound like I'm playing through a Marshall"...

so what you think about this new release?

Demo'd it. Dialed up a few presets. It sounded GREAT. Bought it a minute later. Just like my old Rockman unit and then some. At introductory price of $29.00 for this and the supporting effects, it's a no-brainer.

It's missing the companion half rack EQ:

Tried it, it is cool - very '80s sounds, highly tweakable including a nice range of adjustment on the effects. It's different from the very enjoyable X-100 model in Amplitube Joe Satriani (as it would be, for sure). I'd love it if Overloud included that EQ that Teksonik posted, too!

I'm thinking about buying it but how does the copy protection work? I don't love extra software running in the background.

I haven’t been that into the Overloud emulations, but I’ll definitely check this out. I’ve got a sweet spot for that kind of transistor 80s drive.

Ya so I did buy it. And while I've never played a real unit, this does what I expected it to do. It even sounds crappy in the way I'd expect some 80s unit to sound. :) But playing songs from Hysteria, I laughed at how close it was.
Now I need to find a way to use it.
