I ordered a Decksaver for the Microfreak. I never wanted to own one of these but the MF has a small slot to fit into (I’m aware of how that sounds, but it’s true) and the Decksaver is gonna save it from taking a beating

I still think some utility mods are sexy. Maths is sexy. I still had a hard time buying it especially because it wasn’t a noise maker.

The iConnectivity MioXL arrived yesterday and last night I got to grips with setting up half my gear through it on RTP-MIDI and it's really fun to be able to access the same synths by name directly from either my PC or iOs apps. Can establish a connection on the iPad via their NetMIDI app and then I could set up a MIDI Audiobus session to send distinct channels from a sequencing app like Fugue Machine to different hardware synths then get the sound out at my PC and layer up each track with effects. Nice noodling fun.
Only synth so far I couldn't get to work with the MioXL's USB hosting is the Neutron. It went through the motions of showing OK, even on my DAWs, but then it refused to respond to MIDI I was sending it. Will eventually pipe MIDI for everything except my Elektron gear through it as I like being able to free up a load of USB ports and it has a number of DIN MIDI if the USB host isn't working or if I need to keep the USB for something else, like synth updates. Seems I don't even need to connect the MioXL up for firmware updates though as they've packaged them like SysEx MIDI files.

It's in the Cherry Audio library now. Not free though, actually pretty pricey for what is basically just a patch panel and some CC mappings. $29 for the main thing and $19 for the expander.thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:46 pmThanks for the link ... just gotta wait for Tim to release it nowShabdahbriah wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 5:58 am I thought this looked very interesting and was glad to see that it was made for Voltage Modular*.

So your girl said your Freak has a small slot to fit into and you want to keep it covered so as it doesn't take such a BEATing. I get it I get it.

That is a touch more than I had anticipated, but it will likely go on sale (as per Cherry's usual motif) for 2/3-1/2 that price eventually. Still it's considerably cheaper than editors I've used in the past, from Midi-Quest, and Karma-Labs, albeit they were much more sophisticated/deep.WatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:34 pmIt's in the Cherry Audio library now. I do think it cool that it is plugged in to Cherry's modular and MIDI environment though.

Nice!, I didn't get the case, I should probably. I didn't ask for one of the first ones for some reason either.
Anyway congrats.
