(What I think is the original from Driftmoon) 4:39
(More recent release from Giuseppe Ottaviani) 2:07
Good explanations! I think it's more likely the last one, since both are big names, I think they will try to avoid using MIDIs straight out of a sample pack, which is generally frowned upon. As pointed by cantaloupe's video, it's likely that it's a very typical trance melody style (and possibly chord progression), and both artists happened to come up with similar stuff.Polomo123 wrote: Mon Jan 24, 2022 8:54 pm -If they use the same Midi from a source pack (If both use it from a third person, it's not plagiarism, since both license it from a third and this would be legally )
-Driftmoon knows Ottaviani and lend it to him (Welp, technically plagiarism? But not in terms of Law when this comes to a court

A plagiarism is an idea or a piece of writing or music that has been secretly copied from someone else's work." Secretly is not given in this example but man this would be thin ice in a court)
-Doppelschöpfung (double creation not sure if this can translate directly )(Ottaviani heard it and recreated it without knowing, would be hard to justify in a court but possible )
Nice video! Now I started to question every melody if I have heard it before
