Thinking of picking up a delay pedal for my guitar setup. Liking the Ninja Tunes pedal so far ... any other suggestions?

is that not more of a synth pedal? as in you'll be wanting to play with the controls to get the best use? (unless this is a different ninja tunes product than the one im thinking of?)thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 7:48 pm Thinking of picking up a delay pedal for my guitar setup. aaaand, any particular delay type guitar sounds you're after? the choices are fairly endless

ThanksWatchTheGuitar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 1:34 pmIt's in the Cherry Audio library now. Not free though, actually pretty pricey for what is basically just a patch panel and some CC mappings. $29 for the main thing and $19 for the expander.thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 9:46 pmThanks for the link ... just gotta wait for Tim to release it nowShabdahbriah wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 5:58 am I thought this looked very interesting and was glad to see that it was made for Voltage Modular*.

yeah that's the one, it is a very desirable delay, but i do think it's more hands on, although it could of course be used as normal.thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:00 pm Its the Zen Delay I'm thinking of ...

could well be that's just how the demos sound?

I watched a couple of demos. Looks great (if pricey). Cheaper than the Strymon last time I checked.

Both justin3am and elxsound have the zendelay IIRC, they can comment on it fully. Pretty sure
it's very good.
*Yes, I have a mental record of everyone's gear. Once I've read something, I am unable to forget I'm afraid. Of course, I could have been high at the time...

yeah it does look awesome. was and maybe tempted again one day (so many things are tempting )thecontrolcentre wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 8:16 pm I watched a couple of demos. Looks great (if pricey). Cheaper than the Strymon last time I checked.
ive not actually seen any demos where it was used as just "a delay". all the ones ive seen, have been all about how great it is on rhythmic stuff, with the timing and such.
but then it is a ninja tunes product, so i can see a lot of djs being interested too, so that's probably why it's them ive seen?
but yup as pekbro says justin and elx both have it, give them a nudge, see what they think

I’ve got mine because of Justin3am!
It can be used like a normal delay, set it and forget it thing but IMO it’s kinda pricey for just that. They put some work into making it very musical while manipulating it but there’s no reason it can’t be used minimally since I’d like to believe everyone here has at least one bit of multi-use/versatile expensive gear that only gets used for specific things…. Nothing wrong with that.
I also watched this review before buying… he has less orgasmic responses to playing (not an intentional dig at Tinez) and is not a fan of the saturation on the delay. I like the saturation especially since it’s different than other options.

This one is new to me but well done (IMO). You can definitely hear the sweet points if you were to set it and leave it, along with both subtle and extreme manipulation.

New module for the Op-Z.
It adds an extra output and line in for FX send/return.
That’s really about it… but of course it’ll be pricey and I’ll probably get it just for the convenience of using OP-Z without the 1010music BlueBox for external sends. Well, A send (not plural unless the stereo signal can be split for separate mono outs & returns, but I highly doubt it).
