Icarus makes it easy to get inspired. Lots of great presets on board and it's straightforward to use.

Hi Markus, there is also a mismatch @ Icarus 2 full installer. The version indicated on the website is 2.0.6 but inside the winrar archive is 2.0.7. A minor detail though.

We never used winrar (.rar) archives, as this file format is not supported by Windows by default. We use .zip files (PC) or .pkg files (Mac) for the installers.
I already uploaded the current beta (2.0.7). The new website is still not online and will be uploaded today.

I experiment with some cyberpunk,alien robots:):):)type of sounds with Icarus and probably it will be my track competitor,not sure yet, but already made few ufo landing and alien robots attack the earth interesting sounds so will continue to dig that hole until d rabbit pop up

Icarus 2.0.8 PC (free update)

New features:

- HiDPI support for the VST3 version.
- Minor enhancements for the VST3 plugin.

Fixes:

- The VST3 plugin did not properly sync the BPM-rate.
- Workaround for some DAWs that did not update the GUI properly after re-sizing it.

Made couple of random presets(not randomized,just pure joy of sound design twisting knobs:):):)but when start to assemble into one track something interesting as mix happened,so next few days think to work little bit more serious on composition and wanna ask,is it only Icarus fx allowed or external could be used too?
What will be considered as better track - pure sound,composition or complex?
I guess the track competition must show what Icarus is capable,is that correct?

From the competition statement made earlier:
"Create one or more impressive jingles that use several instances of Icarus. The song style can be any style you want. Make it interesting with some modulation though. External drums or EQs are allowed. Be careful with compressors, limiters or clipping."

Icarus fx section is amazing and i like how three dimensional reverb sounds,but in the mix not always build in reverb is best decision,no matter how good it , have to use external reverb and compression to mix all properly.
Honest demo should never use external fx so pure sound to be heard, but final mix made this way isn't impressive compared to tons of reverb,saturation,compression and other fx all modern music producers use.
I prefer to focus on sound itself,just interested will other competitors use external reverb,is it allowed so on

I didn't use any external reverb on my tracks.
Markus can let you know if it's allowed if you email him or leave a note here.

I meant that I didn't use external reverb for any instances of Icarus.
I did use external reverb for the drums in my tracks (Addictive Drums).

So you can use this. But if possible use the internal drums/effects.
