Ableton Glue Compressor: what is it/any alternatives?

Edit: These tutorials weren’t about sidechain.
They were tutorials about making synth leads or basses. And then they usually add Ableron’s Glue after all the effects in the individual synth track. I don’t have Ableton so was thinking what would be good replacer for this.

I have seen people using Ableton Glue Compressor in YouTube (I don’t have Ableton). Is that something different than normal compressor?

Are there some VST plugins to replace the Ableton Glue Compressor when using other DAW?

Edit: could Neutron 3 compressor do same as Glue Compressor?

the Glue does not only replace the Glue Compressor, it’s practically the same thing.

Do you think something like iZotope Neutron 3 compressor could do the same?

The Glue compressor from Ableton is basically an SSL Buscompressor emulation (made by the guy from "the glue" vst plugin posted above). So, if you want the closest thing get "the glue". Or look at any of those other SSL Bus compressor emulations out there.

It is a very fast compressor, according to Deadmau5 it doesn't make sense to use one in electronic music

Because it's actually scary how much success this guy has without the slightest background knowledge.... but he makes up for it by showing it with a big mouth over and over again and brings his "wisdom" among the people, who have just as little idea as he does... :hihi:

30mS setting isn't very fast. But in general yeah... 0.01mS at the fastest is ultra-fast - perfect for electronic music (peak catching on the beat).

It is scary how much you don’t actually know how much background knowledge he actually has.

He had been using this compressor even before anyone knew it existed.

I am not a deadmau5 fan, but I took his Masterclass a few years ago and learned quite a bit. I respect what he does and it works for him. IIRC he said it can make more sense to use something like LFO Tool than gates or compressors for "sidechain" pumping or gate effects on repetitive EDM elements.

Oh definitely - and even LFO Tool is unnecessary - simply route all your ducky stuff to a 'Duck' bus channel and automate the volume of that channel. Duck a lot on the kick and a little on the snare if you want - you have way more freedom. Can't get simpler than that.. don't even need a plugin for it, and you can draw any attack/release curves you like (if your DAW allows).

However, proper sidechaining with something like Trackspacer to have one instrument carve frequencies out of the other, is awesomely useful. But for basic, straight EDM style ducking, no plugin is needed.
