Logic 5.5.1 PC DEMO needed

in case you don't frequent the Effects Forum, i've been developing VST effects for PC and have been trying to work out some bugs with Logic 5 PC. not owning a copy myself, this proves to be very difficult.
since Emagic (or rather, the parent company, Apple) doesn't want to have anything to do with Windows anymore, i cannot find a download link for the demo.
i don't want to pay for software that isn't supported anymore and that i don't particularly like, so the demo version is a necessity. i just need this for basic testing; i.e. "does the plugin open in Logic?" that's all.
if anyone has this file, or can provide a link to it, it would be much appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: i am NOT asking for warez. i don't want to give the wrong impression here. although, i can't say that i feel any sympathy for Emagic/Apple; they get what they deserve after dumping so many loyal Logic PC users.
thanks.

If you can get your hands on an XSKey (from ebay, perhaps) you'll be able to run Logic 5.51. This means you can also buy Logic Pro (although I'm sure you wouldn't want to) and get the Logic 5.51 installer from here.

Or you could ask Logic users to beta test...
I don't mind. I've got some free time coming up soon.

I don't think the update will install if it dosen't see the original installation folder from the "official" cd, xskey or not. having a logic/windows user test for u is probably the only way to gomjones4th wrote:If you can get your hands on an XSKey (from ebay, perhaps) you'll be able to run Logic 5.51. Although I don't advocate such a thing at all, this might be the one case where finding it in the dark shadows of the net might be justified, not legal mind you,but possibly justified in a moral sense.citizenchunk wrote:Emagic (or rather, the parent company, Apple) doesn't want to have anything to do with Windows anymore,

Unfortunately, in this case I *might* be with Alan.
I mean, hey, I find it exceptionally great that there's still people even thinking about us left over Logic users! And after all, Emagic should be happy too (if at all, it's the die-hards that will perhaps buy a Mac one day).
In case you need some more Logic/Win testers, feel free to ask.

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

yeah,logic/windows is almost abandonware now, but i would send it to a legit user anyway just to eliminate the possibility of a bad hack causing problems.Sascha Franck wrote:Unfortunately, in this case I *might* be with Alan.

thanks for the responses guys. i guess there is no hope of doing this on the up-and-up. the dark side might be the only way out. but like i said, Emagic kind of brought it on themselves.
however, in the meantime, i might have fixed the bug in my code the old fashioned way: looking at it until my brain kicked-in. i think i've fixed the problem that prevented it from loading, and i'll post an updated build as soon as i get a chance. if you're interested in testing it, just check out the Effects Forum in a few days.
thanks for the help.
