Here's some sound. Hollow and Supermassive. Me playing an arp in real time. I didn't attempt to match them but rather dial them in to be similarily pleasing. I think the audio captures the character differences between these two reverbs...

Hey man very cool experiment! I have to admit though... Hollow does sound incredibly crystalline, buttery rich and very nice, damn....

Nice comparison! I'd say Hollow easily holds its own, but... Supermassive is 100% free, so aside from a nicer GUI/UX (sorry Supermassive!), I'm not sure I'll drop $39 USD on Hollow since I already have Valhalla Supermassive. Wonder if Sinevibes stuff ever goes on sale.. :?:

Cool. This gives a nice impression of both reverbs. Hollow sounds velvet-y. Yet, I clean out my whole setup constantly since a year (just dropped my Unfiltered Audio effects bundle) and I'm not sure if it's just psychosomatic (GAS) or really the sound attracting me so much :hihi: although I really like the very simple parameter layout too. I hope I find some time soon to test it properly by myself
It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

They offering an education discount (stated in the FAQ) and I read somewhere here on kvr that with every purchase one gets 20%off for the next plugin (not sure about that tho).

I own pretty much all of Valhalla plug-ins (paid and free) and as much as I like the sound on Hollow,I will not buy it. Most of the tiny differences between Supermassive and Hollow will be lost in the mix anyway.
Supermassive is free btw…

Right, hence my reluctance - especially at $39 USD. I mean the GUi/UX on Sinevibes Hollow is a massive  improvement over Supermassive - IMHO anyway. Valhalla's look is really starting to look dated these days, but free is free.

I had some time to test Hollow for a while (two hours). Just played some of my Zebra patches and compared it against my go-to reverbs (Ubermod, Vintage Verb, Supermassive, MFM2, Velvet Machine). Yes it sounds damn good. Hollow sounds distinctively different very smooth. Also small spaces are really comforting, but yeah, it's questionable if this is really sticking out in a dense mix. On the other side it may sticks out in genres like slow dark ambient and similar – which I'm into anyway. Yet, I'm also not sure if I will buy it. But than again, the layout is very nice and I can tweak in certain sounds much faster than with the my other tools. Especially with a midi controller.

Huh!? What you mean with "dated"? I find them so simple there is no date on. The only thing what is sometimes bothering me is the amount of different modes :D

there have been sales, but not very frequent. around 35-50% where they've happened.

Cool, thanks. Will probably hold out then.

They also give discounts for those that own their plugins. I think if you have at least one they give you a 20% coupon that works on any orders.

I was getting 50% off for owning all their plugins. But they have hidden the one that haven't been windoze ported. However I *think* if you buy the windoze bundle you will get new additions to it for 50% off. I think... best to confirm with Sinevibes.

Thanks, but I don't own any of their plugins (aside from the stuff I have on my Dreadbox Typhon and Korg Minilogue XD).

Didn't know they ported their plugins to windows. Great new to me :tu:
