I like Waves Abbey Road Plates, but is there another good plate plugin, maybe a little more cpu friendly?
Which plate do you prefer?

Valhalla Plate all day. Low CPU, reasonably priced and easy to use.

I haven't compared them all, but I found among my reverb collection that UVI Plate is unique and excellent at providing very short early reflection type 'ambience' to acoustic sources.

I suppose Vallhalla has different plate types or models.Which one do you prefer or are they all good? Would be great if one could demo Vallhala, I purchased Vallhalla Delay long ago without demoing it and am satisfied.yorubamonk wrote: Wed Feb 02, 2022 11:38 am Valhalla Plate all day. It starts with "Val" and ends with "halla"
Arturia Plate 140 is all right for some things too.

I like a lot of different plate sounds. For something very tunable with a good range of adjustments, I like Black Rooster's RO-140. I use Abbey Roads plates from Waves occasionally for its particular sound also. But certainly, my favorite to throw on, get levels dialed in, and love it without having to take a lot of time has to be IKMM's Sunset Sound Studio reverb. It does it for me quick and sounds great.

For me just the two 'simplest' chrome and steel (maybe cobalt which is supposed to be the most EMT140. The others don't quite hit it for me, too metally/odd - hard to say why not. I think I'm just after a smoother/more natural ring to the plate.DCrown wrote: Wed Feb 02, 2022 12:19 pm I suppose Vallhalla has different plate types or models.Which one do you prefer or are they all good? I think credit should be given to Valhalla as they have also added more new plate modes including a true stereo one in v1.5.

Another goal scored for Valhalla Plate. TBH, I rarely ever even use another plate reverb, so I'm probably pretty biased (and will not apologize for that).

I am addicted to plate reverbs, I have more plate reverbs than compressors or eqs.DCrown wrote: Wed Feb 02, 2022 11:24 am I like Waves Abbey Road Plates, but is there another good plate plugin, maybe a little more cpu friendly?
Which plate do you prefer?
If you like creating your own sound with lots of tweaking options Waves H-Reverb or R4 by Exponential Audio might be the right choice, if you prefer it simple maybe Soundtoys Little Plate, they are all great. I have a video testing 12 different reverb plugins and u can see and hear what an amazing sound I create with R4 in a short time.
I ve also a electro song Darlin Nikki on youtube using TC electronics DVR250 a lot, I rarely use it, but it can work great for edm, electronic music, sounds pretty artificially. Maybe this one is something for you?!
