Writing has been on the wall for so many years unfortunately, and a consistently small yet ravenous fanboy base defending every shit move only (or lack of move) hurt them further.
Have you tried Vital?

I'm banned from ReasonTalk but I can see even the mods there are slowly loosing faith and they - well, some of them - were always defending any RS decision and offered the most favourable explanation for any f**k up :(

I loved Reason, and still do for the most part, its more disappointing than anything. But ya RT is hardcore echo chamber, and one of the only spots RS Devs regularly visit for their obligatory brown-nosing. I was diplomatic and thoughtful (usually), trying to make suggestions-headway in the few years I spearheaded "Reason needs to DAW" among other things, but eventually the RS Cancel Culture kicked in when I stood up to their almighty.

It's soo sad
Because it's such a great piece of software
That has never reached its potential
It has literally everything you need in there
With some polish and spick and span
It could be a great daw .
But now alas it's like a whore in a dark alley
Working longer nights to get a few bucks
Selling more and more of its soul to pay for the crack 😂

It's never gonna be Ableton
Which I like as well but would say overall is my second best but so much slicker in looks and presentation
And ease of use

You can see reason studio dying
And they can't hide it anymore
Constant 3 months for 3 dollars /pounds
Is desperate for coin
And blocking users from re selling is shamefull
This company will dump them within next 2-3 Years I reckon
Would be a awesome open source program wouldn't it .

Yeah, it's a total shame. Even after V12 came I was willing to give them and their new CEO the benefit of the doubt when he made that mouthful first blog-post - only to significantly raise the upgrade price a few days later, without having delivered.

Problem obviously is he thinks we're mere sheeps. Would they have come up with and upgrade with improvements for the DAW-side of things, I would have upgraded to V12 without hesitation - for the original upgrade price (or a tenner more). But as it is, they didn't get a penny from me for a long time, as I also won't invest in REs anymore.
So instead of partaking to secure a steady income for them, I'll watch them slowly die instead.

I bet they'll get rid of Niklas Agevik before that - however I doubt that this will make them stop their desperate erratic antics and finally get back on track - except perhaps Ernst-Nathan Böös himself takes over the steering wheel again (pretty sure he's seen enough of his successor by now).

I'm sure Niklas Agevik got a contract, I think five years is very common for a CEO?

The first stupid decision in my opinion was, to change the name from Propellerheads Software to Reason Studios.

The url is still working by the way....

Maybe it would make sense to give the Propellerheads Reason Studios some feedback on their decisions they made over the past two years....

No idea, however then they must certainly have a clause that allows them to terminate the contract earlier if certain expectations aren't met. Why would any company take that sort of risk without some sort of safeguarding?

They are aware of all of it. They monitor this place and others. I'm also pretty certain there are talks behind closed doors about their current performance and Agevik's role in it. But of course they will never admit any of that publicly. Towards the outside they will always present nothing but smiling faces and praise of their own success.

This is the problem once the original creator has sold his creation the labour of love has gone
And your just left with a product
Sometimes it works like logic and Adobe
But I can see this going a similar way as cakewalk eventually
Yeah the upgrade price was a pure kick in the teeth man
But it's probably to stop people buying old versions
Which was a cheaper way in
Now your blocked from selling too many versions

Post

Yeah, I think that's exactly the problem. I bet he has a passion, but much rather a passion for business in a more general sense than a passion for the product at hand.

Do I have to unsubscribe it ? So I won't get charged for a fresh subscription?
This. So much. I tried it and it was a nightmare constantly having to log in to start the DAW, even when run as a plug-in. And if you authorize it's one PC only.

If I said you are blocked, I won't see your posts. Please kindly refrain from quoting or replying to me.
"Notifications for Nothing" are annoying. Blocking me in return is a good way to avoid this.

maybe native isntruments buy them, so it can be sold at 1200dollars for the collectors edition with all inclusive (you save 15999$$! ;P). a perfect fit. ni needs a daw anyway to go full throttle

This is far from the days of when Props asked users to pick their own upgrade price when they released Reason 6 (for those of us who had bought Reason/Record back in the day).
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine
