A compressor works fine, but ducking is far better IMO. I use Duck by Devious Machines. Volumeshaper is also great. It triggers the envelope via midi, so each time the kick hits, the volume is automated. Why is this better? That said, manually automating this with a volume envelope (as someone else suggested) is a hilariously bad way to do it.
