I think lots of it had to do with Pandemic gear shortages too (but I don't know if that was the case with Digitakt). Price gouging galore on lots of stuff.

I'm not a fan of selling on Reverb due to costs, but it's the most convenient for me. I have 9-12 things to sell but I'm trying to work up the energy for dealing with people... people are the worst.

I saw that a lot when I bought my bass.

Brand new: $180 with free shipping.
Used in excellent condition: $140, plus $120 shipping.

Physically I can't say they exude quality. The panel is super thin and the 281t's PCB was smeared with IPA/flux (worst I have seen on a factory built).

Quality notwithstanding, I'm really surprised by the price of these, compared to many units that have been "inspired by" them. TipTop could have charged half-again more, to almost twice the price, and still sold out (imo).

So my careful slow approach to eurorack has... failed completely... and I've ordered 7 or 8 system 100 modules.

Those system 100 modules are an incredible value, particularly for those starting down this path, and/or those who want that sound/approach, and even for a fairly well fleshed-out system.

I've already got quite a few cables, but I am wondering if I'll have to move some modules around just to reduce the length of cables needed.

i thought about that, then just bought 2 meter cables instead

mines a mess, no signal flow whatsoever!

yeah they do seem to be very nice, especially for the price.
between these, tiptop and doepfer alone, you could build a monster for bugger all outlay
