I’m stuck on what delay to purchase, both are amazing but Valhalla Delay is $50, and currently Arturia Delay Eternity is on sale, 50% to €49!!!
What would you choose?

Valhalla Delay or Arturia Delays Bundle (Eternity+Tape-201+Memory Brigade) would be a better comparison based on content instead of price. I know, the Delay Bundle is not on sale at the moment, but people often sell it for less than €49.

Valhalla is what I’d choose out of those 2.
You can change the algorithm to check what fits best without changing plugins, so just for workflow and flexibility it’s great. Possible Bonus - It may still be updated to add more algorithms. It has the diffusion feature crossing into reverb territory. I would demo it before making a decision, then demo the others and pick which you like best.

Valhalla Delay is dozens of incredible delay models (factor in that the Past, Present, Future options are like additional algorithms) and one of the best values in plugins. Absolute top quality delay. It's a no brainier where the $50 is better spent IMO. ValhallaDelay is really my most used delay and usually the first thing I grab.

I'd get the Valhalla even if Arturia started giving their delays away.
The Arturia ones are good, don't get me wrong, but Valhalla Delay > everything.

The Arturia is a nice bread and butter delay if you don't have one but like everyone is saying Valhalla Delay does way more and is a much better value for the money. I'm glad I have the Arturia one but I wouldn't buy it outside of the bundle, even on sale.

I actually prefer Replika XT over valhalla delay, it is deceptively complex if you want.

In all seriousness ValhallaDelay sounds incredible and has most of the delay features I use regularly. Replika XT sounds really good too, but does some things that ValhallaDelay doesn't once you dig into it. Go a step further into complexity and you get Timeless 3. All are great to own. Unless I'm looking for something specific that requires complexity, I generally prefer the simple ones with tons of character though (Valhalla, OuterSpace, Softube Tape, EchoCat).
One tiny thing that really peeved me recently about the NI effects came about after I bought this controller for Reaper:
https://www.sinicon.io/
...Using Reaper+CSI, it uses automation parameters exposed to the host. The NI effects suck when it comes to mapping because NI re-uses automation parameters depending on what mode you're in. They do this across their FX lineup. It's annoying as hell because sometimes a knob on my controller does one thing and other times it's doing something else. Really niche use-case, but NI is the only company I can think of that does this regularly and in my particular use-case, drives me nuts. They could've just created more automation parameters. Would've been much cleaner. Some parameters don't even initialize with a name!
Sorry...I just needed to get that off my chest.

I'm sorry. I know what you mean. I couldn't help myself. I'll show myself the door.

Valhalla. It doesn't do absolutely everything, e.g. it only has 4 taps, but IMO those 8+tap delays have quite limited use in real life. And 4 taps can do quite a bit of bouncing around anyway.
As already mentioned - Valhalla can go towards reverbs. My almost go-to delay type - set at least half way between delay and reverb you still get echoes but it becomes so lush, I find it hard not to overdo it every time. And Valhalla is truly easy to use. Since I got it, I rarely use any of my other delays.
