Could someone help me find more of a certain kind of music?
Referring to a demo from Linplug's new mystery product (no, I don't work for them):
http://www.linplug5.com/mp3/QQQ/trancetechno.mp3
I like the sound at around 0:15-0:21 and 1:58-2:04 ... I have heard that kind of music before
What style is that and who are some of the artists that make it?
Is that a regional style like Miami something-or-other?
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Kevin

sounds like some kind of techno chords...sounds kinda generic actually...real techno don't use that posh sounds...so I'd have to say no artist uses that kind of sounds...But I guess that Detroit techno is close no?

Take any VST that has a sound you like(polyphonic) and put it in eXT with the "Chords" midi device and voila! instant Jazzy chords!
Also, open and close the filter as you play and it's even more authentic...
Perhaps try Asynth?
Getting a very simillar sound right now...It's not hard to make...

The first sound is definitely Detroit -- Inner City or anything by Kevin Saunderson or some of Derrick May's more housy stuff. The second sample is Detroit also, though more like Derrick May than Saunderson.

That kind of sound originated from processed minor chord samples of other records, usually from some lounge thing with a filter on top and effects. This was ubiquitous in house music during the early ninties (detroit, like everyone else says). Eventually people started progrming 3+ Osc synths to do the same thing, as in that example.

Synthesized or not... That 3rd/5th layer is a signature Chicago house sound, especially the 'deep house' stuff, whatever that is.
Sounds gotta come from somewhere, whether is a sample or not.
