Thanks. I suppose what I really meant to ask is when will this update be released? There must be many Cytomic users on Apple Silicon at this point; some of us prefer to avoid Rosetta 2.Synthack wrote: Thu Jan 13, 2022 9:08 am I'm guessing the framework will be updated and that will add Apple silicon support across the board for all the plugs.

the cytomic stuff, like most things, is working fine on rosetta if that's any consolation. i know people have their reasons for not installing it and that's fine. i'm happily using pretty much everything w/rosetta on apple silicon/monterey.btw wrote: Fri Jan 14, 2022 5:44 pmThanks. some devs are ahead of the curve w/releasing apple silicon versions.. others will take a little longer. it is what it is.

Just noticed that the current download on your website is version 1.7.0
The release notes are only covering changes up to 1.6.8 though
Anyone know what's changed?

The DSP framework has been updated a while ago to support the ARM Neon SIMD instruction set, so under the hood all the DSP is ready. Currently I'm using an older version of the Juce framework, so the plugins themselves won't compile for Apple Silicon even though the DSP does. I need to update to the latest version of Juce to support Apple Silicon, which also adds support for VST3 plugin format. This work is now a very high priority, and will be completed after The Scream is finished.
Recently I had to re-do the entire web page to keep that working (was on drupal, now on wordpress) and there is still a little bit of work to be done, and there have also been a few other projects I've been working on which will be made public soon.
I've also been setting up a new Macbook Pro 16" M1 Max (64gb ram, 32 core gpu, 4TB ssd) for development which has taken some time but has been brilliant for speeding up my work. I'm in a great position moving forwards for optimised native Apple Silicon builds, and it's great to be able to use a laptop for heavy development tasks for around 8 hours on battery while still being pretty much silent, which is a lot more than the 2-3 hours I could get out of the old 16" Intel based Macbook Pro with fans blaring.

I may don't know how or it's simply not there: how can one switch the filter models of HP and LP at the same time? There should be a link button or something. Quite often I want to switch between the models after setting up the filter and modulation. Would be nice not to switch always both but to have a link. Dunno like shift+click to affect HP and LP. It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

So should we have hopes for The Scream to be finished within this decade? This work is now a very high priority, and will be completed after The Scream is finished.
Sorry for the somewhat sarcastic (but not totally unrealistic) question

Just installed The Drop 1.7.2, and I'm just getting distortion out. It sounds like the same bug that was in The Glue 1.5.1, and was fixed in 1.5.2. From the release notes I understood that the same bug was supposedly fixed in 1.7.2, but it still seems to be there? (The Drop AU, Logic Pro 10.7.2, OS X 11.6.2)

the contact email is on the frontpage of the cytomic site. you should report the bug if you haven't already.Captain wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:53 pm Just installed The Drop 1.7.2, and I'm just getting distortion out. Yep, sorry about that, my fault. I accidentally released a version with optimisations switched off. I have switched back on optimisations and re-packaged the installer, so please head back to the web page and grab v1.7.2 again if you have excessive cpu usage and audio dropouts because of it (it's the same version since no code changed).Captain wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:53 pm Just installed The Drop 1.7.2, and I'm just getting distortion out. Heh, another problem with 1.7.2: Seems like the automation parameters for cutoff frequency and resonance (both HP & LP) are missing? I opened an old project where LP frequency is automated, and Logic crashes as soon as playback hits the automation. I also can't find the parameters in the list any more. Reverting back to an older version fixes the issue, and I just re-installed 1.7.2 one more time, and the parameters are again missing.

(Yeah yeah, I should probably write to the support email address instead of here, but Andy seems to be active here too, and here other users can give their feedback too, which I like...)
