I still have it on my desktop
-I did actually like xt2,
where a lot of peeps went after it changed a lot
I still run Project5 and Console also,
but mainly fool around in 64 bit these days

Yes. I bought it couple of months ago. It wouldn't run at all. Support doesn't respond.

Why didn't you try the demo first?
Energy had great potential in the early years but I believe somewhere around version 2.4 or so it kind of went off the rails and I stopped installing it.
Shame as Jørgen Aase was or I guess still is a great talent but he seems to have just faded away.....
EDIT: I just installed the 3.0 demo and it only supports 32 bit plugins.
Best to leave it to fade into history and lament what could have been if Jørgen was still active.

I'd used it from when it first came out, I made lots of songs with XT. I like it a lot and would use it if it were still maintained. I couldn't use XT3.0 because it would inevitably crash. it's too bad. Now I use Reaper, I'm fairly satisfied , but I miss some things from XT. For one thing the in-track midi editor is pretty fluid. Also, I never noticed any clipping on tracks regardless of the level. It must have automatic limiting, I never looked up if it does. The media browser is integral, with auditioning of sounds and patches. On the other side it lacks tons of features other DAWs have, though I bet the developer was going to put all that in eventually. Like I said, too bad.

What do you mean do I miss it?
It's the glue to my virtual studio. I use it all the time.
Got complex projects with it. Wouldn't change to anything else.

For me there is no other DAW where I can make setups like this
Linking my 2 keyboards and foot pedal together.
- Turning on and off the drums using my foot expression pedal (I can play an intro and then start the whole "Jam Track" program in sync)
- Adding strings according to active chord on the fly
- Changing main voice with my FCB1010 foot controller or keyboard slider via midi CC
- Changing the rhythm of the electric guitars in the programmed "Jam track" with the foot controller
- Changing secondary voice on the second keyboard by pushing some buttons on it
- Attaching the transport controls (record, play) to the sequencer
- Converting Aftertouch to Pitch Bend modulation in order to control generate Vibrato with AT (on the fly).
- Controlling the chords of the "Jam Track" (bass and electric guitars) on the fly with my left hand

I use v1.4. Works fine in win10; no issues at all; I don't see how v2 is better.antic604 wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 1:07 pm Yes. I bought it couple of months ago. It wouldn't run at all. Support doesn't respond.

How do you keep all that straight in your mind? It does my head in just looking at it....
But I checked out your music and I like it a lot so obviously XT works for you.
For the record I did get the XT 3.0 demo to load and run here on Win 10 although it crashed while attempting to load 64 bit plugins. I saw it was 32 bit during installation but thought it might have a built in bridge because I didn't think anyone would be selling a 32 bit only app in 2022.
One could argue that XT might make a good project for the open source community if he's not going to develop or support it any longer but if it's still generating sales I doubt he would be willing to set it free....

I use jBridge to bridge a free version of Element x64 to it. Element can host x64 VST2 and VST3.Teksonik wrote: Sun Feb 06, 2022 2:58 pm For the record I did get the XT 3.0 demo to load and run here on Win 10 although it crashed while attempting to load 64 bit plugins. Each instance of Element runs on a separate core. So I do my own multicore management (I choose which plugins get grouped on each core). Like you mentioned, it's a little extra work, but it works very well for me (and I'm so used to it now, it's barely an overhead when working).
But this combination is quite stable for me, I don't remember the last time it actually crashed.

in the future there will be clones of energyXT and Vaz i dream!!!I really miss it's workflow. It's such a shame what happened with that.
In the future there will be robots!

Just in case somebody has nostalgia or as pointed out - new version doesn't work, the v1.4 is still in the internet archives;
I'm assuming that if you've bought the newer one, the older one should work too (not sure it's the case).
