Is there any way to find out which version of JUCE is being used? "Help - About" mentions JUCE but not which version.
Hi folks,

For what its worth, the reason I had problems with MIDI event timing were several:
- JUCE: Ambiguity in the documentation as to how MIDI time stamps were supposed to be used for each audio block; if interested, these need to be numbered from zero for every audio block emitted (so they're always relative to the start of the block)
- JUCE: the AUv3 implementation should have emitted absolute MIDI event times to the AU subsystem; but it was sending the "zero based" relative time I noted above; note that the VST implementation in JUCE handled this the right way. I think the reason they had the bug in the AU adaptor, is down to the ambiguity I mentioned above. I actually found this issue (and fix) independently of the JUCE team a couple of days back; it turns out they'd fixed it at the end of December (in a version we'd not merged-in)

We don't merge-in JUCE updates very often, as I'm cautious not to destabilise Wotja; I have patched JUCE quite extensively to (say) support tvOS and work-around various issues with plug-in scanning and what have you, and I have to be very careful not to break all my fixes!

Finally - Wotja 22.1.2 (sent this morning to Beta testers!) has a version of JUCE 6.1.5 - so completely up-to-date. The primary reason for my updating from JUCE 6.1.4 was to get some Accessibility fixes.

Best wishes, Pete

So how does one go about locating this mysterious "direct input tab"?

As it is working now in general as vst3 in Mixcraft that is really beginning to make fun :D

Just having 2 tracks with takes and multis and one with wotja/multi and midi recorder.

What is really fun: evrytime you hit the play button cause of the generative foundation it gets slighly different results. So putting these slighly different results on two tracks with takes and multis..... :D

If you want to make it really unpredictable you can record the "actual" Wotja "producer" for it for a third track.....or......

perhaps someone can help me :-)
Hi!

Alas, Ableton does not support Apple’s AUv3 format plug-ins - at least, so far as I’m aware. Though you’d have thought they would do by this point!

To answer your other question, AUv3 plug-ins are delivered as extensions embedded within their associated app, so they’re not installed separately in the “old place” used by AU 2 format plug-ins.

Hi pete,
thx, that could be the problem with the AUV3 in ableton!

but i can not see the vst plugin too (not in ableton, not in my other DAW on my mac like Logic (no AU), bitwig 4 and Reason 12.
and in the /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST and /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 is no wotja.

do you know where's the folder for the auv3 plugins? is it the same "components" folder where all my other au-components are stored?

btw. i have the moog Model 15 on my ipad, has installed it on my mac and this plugin i can see in ableton.. its perhaps an auV3 too?

greetings and i love the wotja 22 on my ipad :-)
(but i would be much better to use it in ableton)

Hi Andreas!

We don't ship a VST implementation for macOS, as Apple want Apps sold through their App Store to support their own format (AUv3); which is reasonable I guess!

AUv3 plug-ins are embedded within the installed application (i.e. Wotja 22 Pro.app in our case), within the "app bundle". They're not installed to a separate folder (that is an old approach only used by AU V2 on macOS)

Yes, that's right! :)

Thank you very much - and I agree with you - we have to wait to see what Ableton do, I guess!

The way to use Wotja on macOS with Ableton is to use the Application version of Wotja. Make sure Virtual MIDI is enabled in the Wotja Settings screen, and you can then drive Ableton via any of Wotja's many virtual MIDI ports.

With best wishes,

Pete

Are you talking about daw to daw integration? I don't think BC Connector recognizes transport control when communicating between two daws.

Why doesn't it indicate Feb 7 for Windows version? I get it that it has the correct version, but it won't confuse users as much if you add the date like the others have.

Problem updating from Microsoft telling me I'm not running as Administrator or that VST3 is in use. Tips?
I had to click the Buy button to initiate an update.

Hi - easy enough. That message is about updating the VST3.

Run the app as Administrator (you only need to do this after update; if you want to update the VST3). It'll then let you update the VST3.

Best wishes, Pete
