Interesting!

Perhaps you could send me a copy if I lob a tenner in to your paypal ah?

Wink. Wink.

Of course, you would never do such a thing. It would be highly illegal.

And just to be clear, I was not soliciting you to do as such.

But that bloody nag screen!

ASynth was kind of at the beginning of it all. The very point where people probably realised: "hell yeah, this is good enough".

The filters are nice, having a selection between MS-20 (Korg) and Moog and Oberheim (was it) is nice. I forget now. Who cares.

It's a little beast of a synth. Warm and smooth, rough and ready.

If ever there was a 'vintage' VSTi this would be one of them.

It doesn't have the bells and whistles and whatnot of more modern fare, but when you nailed it, you nailed it. ASynth pretty much nailed it imho.

I used it on some tracks that got played out and it sounds absolutely massive. No way anyone could tell it wasn't a proper analog synth. And this is way back around 2005/6 iirc.

Antti should just do a modern GUI for it (big and small), cut out the nag screen and provide the CPU optimisations as standard, and charge a tenner for it, or hell, charge 20 quid for it - I'd buy it!

A few presets on top would be cream.

Or follow the Vember Audio Surge approach and open-source it for further development. As far as I can see it worked for Surge, since it re-gained popularity and remains in active development, right?

Logic’s stock compressor is pretty awesome. I know it only benefits Logic users, but it’s a great one that comes free with Logic, nonetheless.

I noticed there are two GUI's for this compressor, that I recommended. I tried the GUI on this website for the first time and realized it acts differently than the version I originally downloaded, which I liked. I think the old GUI is best, so if anyone does spend time trying this one out, be sure to try the GUI that is just a metallic plate with black knobs. You might have to google it.

Again, the developer's other VST's, not in the compressor category (the modulated delay, which I think needs to be done stereo instead of mono, and the general delay) I found to be not useful (for me). I haven't tried his other compressors yet. I plan to try out his transient and other compressor plugins some more when I have time. One of them is a 'coloring' compressor, so perhaps his saturation comes out really nice with his ATK system, I will have to see. Since there is a 'color' knob on the side chain compressor, I am guessing ATK sidechain is the only one that is really necessary to use from his collection.
I dont know why i always come back to some old vst compressor and it seems like those guys had the "ears" and a brain but dont get far business wise..

And more and more i am getting back to simple GUI, i am using ears more and think more about composition and stuff related to musicality. I am so tired of new plugins and eq-s, it really is not that healthy to get new plugs.

Anyway, i tried this comp and it has some vibe to it, and i went trying the Hornet FatFet, Endorphin, THD...since a few weeks started using Dominion and Blockfish.

Also Kotelnikov is kinda cool, i have all three RR comps and i never tried No2, but i get it now.

I rarely comment, i really pull thru all this data daily and move foward in production parallel to testing stuff but i feel i need to pay respect more to geniuses who have those braincells that can to all of this programing, coz some plugs really have that soul in it and help a lot.

Here are the plugins in the directory structure I've created. Just unrar and put them in your 32-bit VST folder -

Any chance you could re-up this collection, or does anyone else have it that they could send along?
