This is a follow up to previous poll, but this time the additional constraint is you can't use 3rd party VSTs / AUs / AAXs / M4Ls / REs but only the 1st party native stuff that comes with top version of the DAW.

Let's see how the results will differ :)

EDIT: I voted Ableton Live here & Bitwig in previous one.

It is Logic of course. Good allrounder. Plenty of instruments with decent sound quality, plenty of synths, and good collection of FXs. No brainer really.

Still Cubase. For work, I have HALion and Padshop and for my 'music-that-is-not-making-any-money', I can cheat and use hardware :D

If I had mac then I most likely would choose Logic.

I think it depends on what is considered "Native"? And at what level of DAW is the user's preference? I personally don't use any sample loops beyond basic drum patterns that generally get swapped out for my own input playing somewhere in the process. And I've yet to be moved by any "stock" keyed samples as well. Generally speaking, third party sample developers blow away anything stock.

e.g. I prefer the lighter versions of both Bitwig 16T and Cubase Elements partly because I don't use their stock plugins, samples, etc. and with Cubase, the full HALion/Groove Agent are technically not stock instruments. However, depending on how Steinberg implements their next philosophy, I might still consider it as a one stop working environment.
(Cubase Elements/Absolute.)
Or I might have to move on from them as well...
Bitwig unfortunately, demands third party plugins to be any use for me.
And Mixbus, (which I'm surprising getting along with very well since this latest version) falls under that same place of needing third party plugins to be a real contender for me.
Logic fails, simply because it's a locked system from people that are upping their control over as much as they can.
I loved Logic and Alchemy before Apple took them hostage, but all metaphors of kidnapping apply there and I can't subscribe to the idea of submitting to that pathology of what amounts to a psychological abuse of their victims.

So not sure I can offer a vote on the poll. It is a decent contemplation though. Lately, under the ideal of minimization and ability to use on any system, I lean more toward the old cowboy metaphor of horse and tack. i.e. The horse will eventually die, and we should be able to use the tack on any horse that's available until it wears out.

Maybe something that has yet to be released?

I would create my tracks entirely in Reaktor or VCV Rack. No DAW....
