I’m not sure when it was released, but it was long enough ago that people are making “still worth it in 2021?” videos, (and most agree the answer is yes).
I don’t own one, but I’ve had my eye on it for a while. If you can get past the keyboard, the headlines are is that it sounds good, and it’s surprisingly feature rich despite the “micro” status.

the keyboard is a strong feature of this synth IMO; it's a nice complement to a regular keyboard; and you can use it as MPE-ish controller keyboard for soft synths. As for the MF I find that I use mostly the noise engineering oscillators; for me it's where this synth really shines; with all the modulation options on top. not in the same category of a polybrute though.

I found the complete opposite. I've got 2 Behringer FX rack units that I bought in 1991 or thereabouts that are like new. Built like tanks, no rust, worked forever, no wobbly knobs. Whereas I've had countless big name synths that have crapped out, a Lexicon unit that only half works, some very dodgy mixers, mics, leads etc. Aside from Korg, I don't think I've had any other brand of h/w that is so sturdy, lasts so long and is built so well.

I have to admit that the actual sonic character of those 2 Behringer units is pretty vanilla, but that's what they are and they were cheap as chips with no pretensions of being character wizzbang things. And 2 of the new Behringer analogues I bought are sturdy as very sturdy things. Again - built like tanks compared to some far more expensive shite.

Neutron is a good value but it has its problems; like the filter will distort (and not nicely) as soon as you bring a bit of resonance; having the distortion on the main path makes it always color the sound (unless you bypass it with the patch bay of course). I think the idea was to use some distortion to cover the problem; and indeed with a bit of distortion you won't care if the filter itself distort; and it has a nice agressive sound. it also severly lacks a second LFO (thanks CV tools)

Agree for the most part with most here, however if you come across an ESQ1 (free-$500) or SQ80 (free-750 roughly) get em

DCO with analog filter, easy peasy editing, seq onboard, poly-aftertouch with the SQ80. Built like tanks. Deoxit D5 may be all you need.

Also since you really meant 'any' analog vs digital in your OP, do NOT be afraid of the Behringer remakes. Awesome stuff and I doubt you won't go wrong diving into them (not at those prices). These are analog mono and poly synths though

wise words here... i've been burned plenty of times and only buy new now. Hell, most of the time I'm using synths on my iPad, it plugs right into my mixer through USB and routes through submix right over to my sampler. Tons of fun.

Well, the OP started this thread over two months ago and never replied, so hopefully he’s just too busy playing with his Polybrute to reply, and not too busy trying to find some replacement parts for a $14k Jupiter 8.

I apologies for the late reply!! I wanted to thank each one of you for your feedback and opinion. I am now a proud owner of an Arturia Polybrute!!
The past 4 months have been a real journey trying to learn how to use the synth properly. I went from just using presents and moving random knobs to now feeling confident in creating my own sounds (or at least trying...haha). I have so much more to learn!

Holy shit, yeah that's an awesome first synth. I'm envious - my first synth wasn't anywhere near as good as that. My first 3 purchases were: Korg Wavestation, Juno106 then a 303. They're good in their own right (maybe not so much the 106) but they don't stand up against something like a PolyBrute as a first buy. What you going to buy next? A Waldorf Quantum?

First Synth: Should I buy a vintage analogue synth or a modern modelling synth?
