CONCLUSION: it looks like Wotja is now fixed for all my test cases in Waveform. due to both Reason Rack and Wotja behaving the same, I am convinced the remaining issues are on the Waveform side. i had already reported the problem with Reason Rack in Waveform to the Tracktion team, and now i will update that report to include Wotja.
@JamminFool

Good news, I'm so pleased to hear that it's working for you now in Tracktion  :tu:

@impete

Great work with 22.1.2, thank you :tu: :phew:

thanks, zincT. i'm really excited to be able to use Wotja in Waveform now! :)

2) meters in the mixer.
Agreed, but I'm not clear yet how / if I can do this. Of course, with Wotja's built-in synth / FX network I can do what I want, and all those units have built-in level meter / oscilloscopes.
speaking of which, this one still happens:

1) add Seq:Euc to cell.
2) add Repeater to same cell
3) connect Repeater to Seq:Euc
4) hang.
I hope to look at that once my Macs have both finished updating to the latest macOS!

I just tried this, and didn't find any issues!

I mean that currently there is no way to adjust the pan and levels of audio once you use hosted plugins.

i don't know if it hangs on a mac, but it does on Windows 11. but maybe you just meant that updating your macs is keeping you busy. :)

hmmm, i just tried it again, and it did not immediately hang, but then it poofed to the Desktop when i tried to do it again in a fresh cell.

so i started over with a fresh empty Mix. seemed ok on the first cell i tried, but when i played around with repeating the process in another cell, again, it hung.

interestingly, in earlier versions, this hung immediately as soon as you hooked up the Repeater to the Seq:Euc generator.

and it did the first time i tried it in this version too, but apparently it is now more difficult to reproduce consistently.

keep playing with it. it will hang eventually (this is in Windows, btw)

OK, thanks for the tip!

Upgraded to 22.1.2 today. Still getting CPU overloads in Cakewalk, Studio One, and Waveform with VST3 22.1.2.

But Reaper is still bulletproof here, and is running this version just fine!

Aha - finally got it in the debugger. Just figuring-out how to fix it!

Yes, Reaper is!

And I just tried out my final idea... bottom of the barrel, so I'm running on empty now!

I unplugged my Focusrite USB audio interface, and enabled the Realtek onboard audio in my BIOS, then rebooted, set my DAWs up for Realtek and the Windows audio driver, etc.

But the same darn thing happened! CPU overload on 3 different DAWs as each DAW plays Wotja. I was hoping that it might come down to some interaction with my Focusrite drivers, but with that apparently eliminated now, no such luck. Have already tried various sample rates and buffer sizes, so that doesn't appear to be the cause either.

Computation loop of some kind, perhaps? I have no idea!

I don't think a prompt is necessary.
Yeah, sorry about this. The alert text isn't displayed properly.

This is fixed in the next update (22.1.3 or later...)

Best wishes,

Pete
thank you

It is possible to create a Mix that would behave something like that in 22.1.2 or earlier - by having a Euclidean generator followed by a Follower, or repeated by a Repeater.

However, that would only be a small sub-set of mixes I suspect.

NB that particular issue is fixed in 22.1.3 (or later).

Best wishes, Pete
