Lundsman in spirit I assure you. See I am Jewish only by marriage. And we are entirely secular. My wife is Jewish and I was born to an Anglican mother and a Catholic father. My surname is Sauvé - Oy such a schaegutz!Plotz I might, but no can do: my upstairskeh's a nogoodnik. *elaborate shrug* What a woild. But you're a real landsman. Uff da!

Before collapsing in a heap, one more post. (Just one more! I can quit any time. Really.)
Whoomph: Flabbergasted is an excellent word. Reminds me of a name I once encountered: "Schreckengost." *marvel* Is it not magnificent? The holder of this name said it meant "shrieking guest." Makes me think of haints and banshees.
Beardedone, I'm entirely secular too. Raised in a Jewish/Episcopalian/Southern Baptist/Unitarian/Catholic/what-have-you family. Ended up being the first prophet of Bentoism. *shrug* Go figure!
What do you think of "platter?"

ONE MORE! Then really gone. :-DBeardedone wrote:No idea what that is.Bentoism.
We Bentoists worship bento, which is to say Japanese box lunches.

Not Camilia Bento.
... at least I don't. Some might.

Platter is maybe a 52. So it's not that bad. Anyhoo is a bad version of anyhow (Anyhow is fine). Plus it doesn't mean anything. Any who?Meffy wrote:Squids wrote:AnyhooWhatever you say!

It's like when people say "same difference". What? But, that's starting to get into sayings and phrases which is a whole other thing.
Sickle, you and your woman have some good ones too. You are all coming up with some real gems. I think I've revealed some of the worste ones I know. But there's always the chance of thinking of new ones too (or digging up some classics).
Speaking of nougat (come on- you have to admit that word is awkward!) what's up with 3 Musketeers? What are they doing????
