I choose something else, to be honest I think that worst or best host is simply a bad question. Anyway the "worst" host that I ever used was pro-tools (in the studio 1996-7) I hated the pro-tools editing as mentioned by another, but I don't think it's the worst host, lol no it's a good app I find, it's just one big cake to eat before takeoff!

Sure I admit the midi stuff in Live4 is abit of new and need some more hurdels to be as good or rather easy as in cubase but they're getting there and I had kontakt running exactly as good as in cubase was just a little tricky to find out how to use it but once you get it, pff easy!

but i prefer to pay enough attention to EVERY of the 3 steps.
so it is a good solution to me
not to play with synths before
didn't finish the midistuff and
don't start with songbuilding too
eary before the midi and sounddesign is finished.
but you are right:
allinone is better, but depends on
discipline, workflow and organization.
if live4 handles all the above as good as the specialists than i
should give it a try...

Well it really depends on you, I use cubase sx2 and I extensively use kontakt with cubase and kontakt in cubase is fully operable aswell as my micro modular, so I went for Live4 to see if I could do all the same midi in Live4 first I thought bah, no that's not it yet but as soon as I found out how Live4 handled it and it didn't take hours to figure out I said wow, it did it all and efficiently. And I cannot tell that for alot of apps but Live4 is my favorite after cubase just because I'm used to cubase since my dad's atari version, else I'd throw it into the can by now as Live's look and feel is best I know it makes me do more music then with any other app I use.

Cubase. I know some people love it and certainly all the features are there but I personally don't find it very intuitive to use.

Me to I think the results are Bull, I like cubase alot it does what you want, I like Logic aswell, I like Live4,I like FLStudio, all of them have something special or useful that noone wants to miss, so this whole question is pimpin'shit men!

Yeah, it does lack quite a bit. But it's good for chopping and loop arrangement, which is all I use it for anyway. I like Cubase/Nuendo is my choice ...if Pro tools did not need so much money it might be that ..allthough after having SX3 for a few weeks...apart from a couple things i would like..its perfect.
