Lol, I've seen this movie when I was a kid. Very cheap movie. If you like b-movies, this is one to check out.Does anyone remember the movie in the late 70's called, I think, "Laserblast" ? I think it was called that. The poster had these funky scary looking aliens with a laser gun in your face. I never saw it. It probably wasn't any good. But, since there are all of these sci fi nuts around here.
OT: What are some of your favorite movies?

No 1. Bladrunner.
No 2. The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
No 3. Elizabeth (starring Kate Blanchett).
No 4. Apocalypse Now.
I guess this topic is in fact not that far out, as more and more youngsters turn to film-making (or so I believe. I feel that pop music has not been developing during the last ten years and so I think that in one or two decades, as computers get even stronger, a lot of people will abandon music-making and turn to film-making instead.
So if you feel an urge for shooting (film that is, not me...), now's the time!

That was a great film!Squids wrote: Hey, another great movie (even though OJ is in it) is Capricorn One. This movie was cool. Has anyone seen it?
I struggle to remember all of it.
I should have mentioned the greatest disaster movie ever.
The Posseidon Adventure.
Let's not start talking about books though. The thread will go for EVER!

I'm so chuffed that The Princess Bride appears in this list more than once. I agree with stacks of the choices on this list but that is one of my all time favourite movies that I was keeping kinda secret - in case every said "it's a kids film". I just have to think of the word "inconceivable!" and I start to chuckle. And as for "when I meet the six fingered man..."
The fact that the six fingered man (Christopher Guest) now sits in the UK House Of Lords (yes really!) just kills me!

I like a lot of those movies too. But, one distinction is whether you'd want to own them on DVD. I'd like to have the Godfather trilogy on DVD (man, for as many times I put grapes in my mouth and do my best Brando you'd think they'd get the hint!!!
... sure beats getting a freakin' keyboard tie or whatever people think a musician wants! lol)
So, out of those movies do you own them or would you want to? Would you watch it over and over again? Then there's the "I watch it every time it's on" level. Like Willy Wonka. I don't care to OWN it on DVD but I'll watch it. Genius Wilder.
I mean there are tons of movies that are classics like Gaslight, 39 steps, Wuthering Heights, Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Notorious, Big Sleep, Spellbound etc. Then there's all of the Christopher Guest movies which are excellent (actually I do own a few of those), all of the Monty Python movies. But I don't own all of them. There are some movies that you just want to own on DVD and those are probably your favorites. Otherwise, if you are a movie buff then your list is really massive.
Oh! I can't believe I forgot to mention one of my favorite movies! Cinema Paradiso. Perhaps one of the best movies ever.
But, some other good ones are "Flirting" (austraaaalia baby. down unda!) and the French/Polish Three Colors Red/Blue/White trilogy was brilliant.
2001, Bladerunner... yep. All great. I don't own them though but I'd watch it if it was on. How come cable doesn't have all of THESE movies playing instead of some of the crappy "Shart Attack 3" movies they offer (or yet another crime investigation or reality show!!!!! aaaaaAAAAA!!!! help!!!!).
