Not frequently. I waited months and months for a sale, as I didn't buy it at the introductory price, and there was one around Black Friday when I got it.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Old (no 64-bit versions), but there may be a few diamonds in the rough here...

AAS has made big leaps: Chromaphone 3, very usable, also their other stuff. Then Plasmonic and of course Pianoteq that has evolved so much over the years, that even my first presets now sound good with the new models. Of course also the U-he stuff is state of art, as is Arturia's pigments, one of my favorite. And now Arturia is actively and in many products supporting microtuning, which now makes their DX7 a great product.
One thing is for sure, we have so many great sounding software, I wish I have had that 40 years ago.

I like Vital, but that is not a great plucked string sound. It's okay... a standard noise through comb filter type sound, but not much character and nuance like a real string. Hive for example does much better than that.zachy9 wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 12:59 am Check out the preset called "plucked string" by Matt Tytel that comes with Vital (free synth). It's amazing what you can do with a noise sample and a comb filter.

Thanks for the information, although it comes too late for me.jamcat wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 4:18 am Stay far away from Expressive E. Their plugins wind up as abandonware.
Unfortunately I made the mistake of buying their Imagine plug-in for around 90 EUR some weeks ago.
Now I got AAS Chromaphone 3 (also ~90 EUR) and it's so much better.
Feel the energy...

How is it better? Also what had been abandoned by them? Noisy and Imagine are very new.HiEnergy wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 8:32 amThanks for the information, although it comes too late for me.jamcat wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 4:18 am Stay far away from Expressive E. Their plugins wind up as abandonware.
